deadlifts help a lot
as do face pulls and pull ups and rowing variations

To improve your posture you will need to do scapular pushups, and regular pushups. Remember that if you're standing upright you should look like you have a deep breath coming.

I've had good progress with face pulls, farmer carry with shoulder blades back, and borderline mewing by stretching my head up as far as possible and holding.

Remember that the majority of the nerves in your body branch out from between your vertebra and travel to your organs, limbs etc. Poor posture and vertebra compression can put pressure on those nerves causing pain and illness throughout your body. Two vertebrae pressing the right nerve can cause bladder trouble for instance. Another may cause strange sensations in you hand making you think you've had a stroke. Start exercising, stretching and strengthening your spine as early as possible.

Front squat.

You have to have good posture to do as front squat and I believe they are more important an back squat. The heaviest thing I have ever had to carry on my back for extended distances was another full grown man weighing about 240 lbs with all his military kit and run with that fucker for about one hundred meters. Or March with a rucksack that weighs 160lbs for like 40~50 kilometres in about 18 hours, even the battlefield fitness test is like a 65lbs of kit plus water over 14KM in 2 hours.

However when you fight with another dude the muscles more important are front muscles, with the except of a deadlift the best way to train those is Front Squat, power cleans and overhead press.

Most people have an over abundance of bicep curls, bench press and back squats in their strength diets.

Biceps are sufficiently trained in every other lift if you lift heavy and actually learn how body tension works.
Bench Press is sort of a false lift because you are in the best position of leverage on it, even rolling in JuJitsu it isn’t as practical as overhead press and while deadlifts are useful for strength, if you pair the training with power cleans from the “hang” position (the deadlift).

Get a back brace. They are cheap. Then practice keeping your back & shoulder straight. You can easily do this by standing your back against a wall or trying to balance a book on your head.

Practice to sit in lotus position. Literally fixed my posture by doing just that. I have sauna 3-7 times a weekand and i strech there.

Hardest is tho change the habir of sitting back straight. Took like half year of practising and repeating to realize i started sitting back straight unconsciously

any way staying on topic: just look at a video of the public almost 100 years ago, they have much better posture. we aren't supposed to be sedantry beings. habit reinforces your muscles - it doesnt matter if you do "posture correct exercises" if you go back to slouching after. also one other thing is inflammation - if you change your diet, it may change the way how you feel as you stand, as in it will be easier to properly align your own body.

fuck sleeping on my back with no pillow is so insanely comfy and feels great on my back and neck but for some reason i just cant fall asleep and i feel compelled beyond all reason to turn on my side which completely fucks up my shoulder, back, and wrists, yet for some reason its the only way i can sleep
