Im being serious now, you retarded fedora christians, where is the proof of jesus' divinity?
Former atheist.
If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, the foundation for the Christian faith would be destroyed.
1. Jesus didn’t really die on the cross.
2. Jesus’ body was stolen.
3. The disciples were hallucinating.
4. The account is legendary.
5. It really happened.
All the accounts affirm he died. Pilate verified he died. During the lifetime of the eyewitnesses no one disputes his death. Secular and contemporary historians Lucian, Josephus, and Tacitus cite his death as factual.
What if the disciples faked the resurrection story by stealing Jesus’ body and then claiming he was alive? Not only was the location of the tomb well-known but the Romans had assigned guards to watch the tomb 24 hours a day. This was a trained guard unit comprised of 4 to 16 soldiers. Josh McDowell notes, “The Roman Guard unit was committed to discipline and they feared failure in any way.” It would have been impossible for anyone to have slipped by the guards unnoticed and then move the stone. Yet the stone was rolled away, making it possible for eyewitnesses to enter the tomb. And when they did, the body of Jesus was missing. If Jesus’ body was anywhere to be found, his enemies would have quickly exposed the resurrection as a fraud.
What if the disciples might have been so emotionally distraught that they hallucinated and imagined Jesus’ resurrection? Hallucination is not even a remote possibility, according to psychologist Thomas Thorburn. “It is absolutely inconceivable that 500 persons of average soundness of mind should experience all kinds of sensuous impressions, and that all these experiences should rest entirely upon hallucination.”
Is it just a Legend? Legends do not develop while multiple eyewitnesses are alive to refute them. Legends develop by oral tradition and are not supported with contemporary historical documents. The legend theory does not adequately explain either the empty tomb or the fervent conviction of the apostles that Jesus was alive.
St. Paul:
Are they servants of Christ? I am a better one—I am talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless beatings, and often near death. Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.... If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, he who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
They couldn't have stolen the body. It was in a well sealed tomb with Roman guards standing watch, for the purpose of them trying to steal the body.
God exists user don't be a cringe fedora tipper
That's my point. On top of that, it was Passover, so the city was overflowing with pilgrims who would be potential witnesses. All the Jews had to do was roll down his dead body in a cart to show that he didn't resurrect, but nobody has ever found his remains.
Here is some evidence for a higher being that designed the universe. However, he was asking about the divinity of Jesus.
Another peculiar point is that grave robbery was uniquely a capital crime in that part of the empire,
during that particular time.
Meaning even if guards had been placed otherwise, there could be reason to doubt their duty, but not in the case where failure to do their duty would result in their own death.
Also stands out that the law would be applied selectively during a particular place and time around which one of the most influential figures in history emerged died and ????
They never provide any form of meaningful evidence. They decry other theories and thump the bible.
The proof of his divinity has to do with experiencing purification of your personal body, which leads to the Great Compassion, bliss, freedom from desire, and so much more. Then it's pretty obvious what Jesus represents. The Bible turns Jesus into a religious figure instead of a spiritual one unfortunately, maybe it's by design.
There is no proof
>im being serious now, you retarded fedora christians, where is the proof of Superman can fly?
its in the source material, bro
D&C thread
Kikes are trying to make Yas Forums users fight against each other.
Ignore these threads.
I also had doubts until I saw this huge infograph, read the whole thing and the efforts jews have gone to faking documents to debunk it are great proof
What a fake news.
nice memeflag, faggot
I’ve been on the fence faithwise for a long time, but I feel like these posts have pushed me over the edge. Thanks leafbro, I never thought I’d find something like this on Yas Forums of all places.
The guy literally died on the cross and then rose from the dead.
no you wear the fedora
>no you do
nope you wear it
Good post.
I don't know about Jesus, but the high fatalities in Italy prove there is a God
My pleasure. Read the New Testament. It changed my life. My life is harder now but I'm at least glad that I'm no longer an atheist.
His resurrection
>fedora christians
>a well sealed tomb
Clearly there is a window in the top left corner of this tomb.
Why are you always such blithering retards?
>No , YOU wear fedora
Is it even a projection if you don't even try ?
It's possible he was just a based philosopher.
The disciples ate his body, as commanded at the last supper.
Eye witness testimony is the weakest evidence there is. Add onto it the effects of group social conformity, as demonstrated in the Asch Conformity Experiments and more, what you said is basically irrelevant.
en.wikipedia.org
nytimes.com
Youll witness it soon dont worry
>Quoting wikipedia and nytimes
sup chaim
What kind of testimony would you prefer? Video evidence, for example, obviously did not exist.
Awesome post brother. I have never heard such a great argument to something. Bravo.
Doubles of truth.
go look the fucking papers yourself i just grabbed the first link i could
your very question
There's evidence he was crucified but anything else nah
Where is the proof that you're a real person and not a figment of my imagination?
So what happened to his body?
How old were you when you figured out you were gay OP?
>the Romans had assigned guards to watch the tomb 24 hours a day.
What bible verse is this?
>"The Roman Guard unit was committed to discipline and they feared failure in any way.”
Then the bible lied when it claimed Roman soldiers drew lots for Jesus' fine linens.
>It would have been impossible for anyone to have slipped by the guards unnoticed and then move the stone.
I suggest that guards prone to gambling at an execution site might also be easily purchase for the right shekels.
>Hallucination is not even a remote possibility, according to psychologist Thomas Thorburn.
Actually the psychotropics in the Levant diet explain why there were so many gods and messiahs during the times of the Jewish Temples. Ergot, bream, perch, nutmeg, qat, cannabis, opium and alcohol were unavoidable in Middle East diets.
I imagine it decomposed.
>proof: the bible
lol
Just read the New Testament yourself. That way, you would be better informed. If the guards failed their mission, they would have faced capital punishment. Neither the Jewish nor Roman leaders wanted someone to steal his body, because then they would claim that he was in fact the Messiah, and there would be political turmoil.
It was raised into Heaven
What prevented someone from going to his tomb and seeing that it was still sealed or that his body was still there, thereby disproving his resurrection?
>Just read the New Testament yourself.
So you've never read the New Testament and have no clue what bible verse this is from? Because my History minor is in the Roman Republic and I had to read 30+ Roman history texts. I can tell you all about the Romans for days and days. They had very detailed accounts for the amount of grain in the silos, why some workers were paid more than others, what time work shifts would start, etc. Serious bureaucratic micromanagement. But they never mention once anything about the sun standing still in the sky, nothing about the dead rising from their graves and walking the streets, nothing about any resurrections or even tomb guarding.
Here's another contradiction in your fictitious story - Pontius Pilate doesn't judge Jesus so he just hands him over to the Sanhedrin, right? Pilate doesn't care, in fact he figuratively washes his hands of the whole affair. It's not a Roman execution, they don't break his legs, they don't leave him on the cross to rot as a deterrent to others. This is Hebrews lying about Roman persecution and making up elements of the storyline they thought they could get away with.
It's a shame your gullibility isn't as painful to you as it is for others to watch.
I have read the entire New Testament, but you have not. If you read it, you will understand, and your misconceptions will be dispelled. Do not forget that I was an atheist, and that reading it showed me how misinformed I was. Yes, I could quote it and argue right now, but it would be much more effective if you would just read and understand it first hand, since you are so interested anyway.
We have the bones of all the apostles except St. John's. We don't have the bones of Holy Mother Mary because She was Assumed and we definitely don't have the bones of Our Lord Christ because He Ascended to His Father's side.
This has always been the greatest theological premise of Christianity: there is no body of Christ. So why weren't the detractors able to point to the bones of the supposed false Messiah?
>What bible verse is this?
Just passing by.
Matthew 27:62-66
>62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
>63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
>64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
>65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
>66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
>I have read the entire New Testament
Then answer the question:
What bible verse is this?
Protip: You can't answer the question proving you lied about reading the bible.
>your misconceptions will be dispelled
Someone who read the bible could dispell my misconceptions, but you can't.
>Do not forget that I was an atheist
We all start out as atheists until somebody lies to us about Islam or Mormonism or Scientology or Christianity whatever.
>Yes, I could quote it and argue right now
But you showed up unarmed to a battle of wits? Got it.
There's a reason why your link is stuck in the philosophy section user... fine tuning in the sense you are suggesting that some magic man created the universe isn't the same as cosmic evolution, or evolution in biology, where actual science and not "let's talk about our feelings" is used to describe reality, yes reality, something religious folk seem to love to hate.
don’t be a cringe jew worshipper user
>go your way
>So they went
Right, we know precisely who "you" and "they" are. They are " the chief priests and Pharisees"
They made the sepulchre sure
They set a watch
" the chief priests and Pharisees" set a watch
Not the Romans
Anybody who claims to have read the bible should know this.
Look, I get that English is your second language and I appreciate your efforts but this is like 7th grade sentence diagramming.
All humans are divine. We are all jesus
Look around you, and pay attention. Plenty of proof.
Don't be such a child.
It is based on science, though. Science has shown how precise these variables had to be for everything to work out, as the link explains. The philosopher then asks "why" or "how come". People have resorted to inventing the multiverse theory to explain it away, but there is no real scientific evidence for it yet.
>making a boomer thread
Just stop.
He said to show proof christcuck
>Science has shown how precise these variables had to be for everything to work out, as the link explains.
Yes, how convenient, that the parameters that HUMANS invented, and measurement systems and mathematics that humans came up with and used to display such parameters are of course, all created by a divine all knowing being.
Your argument stops, when you start taking philosophy as fact, and ignore that science deals only in facts.
>Christ consciousness
>Kenosis
>Deep psychology
The human psyche is esoteric, our minds are connected to the one universal mind. Opening your mind up to the universal mind and allowing it to speak through you is called kenosis. Look it up, user. Take the Gnostic pill.
Did you read the link? Did you see how if any of those variables differed ever so slightly that we would not be here right now? It's not about the measurements we use to understand the universe. Philosophers ask "why?" is it that this extremely unlikely circumstance is so, i.e. of all these variables being exactly right for the big bang to succeed, heavier elements to form, and life to develop,. We are talking about "why?" in this thread.
Christ is the only begotten of the Father. You're only an adoptive son, brother. Don't presume.
Matthew 28:4-5
>4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
>5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
I wonder, either way they had 24h/day watch. If they were jews it's more of a reason to watch very very carefully as they hated Jesus.
