California. It's simple. The people are
1) The smartest - silicon valley for example
2) The most beautiful - hollywood actors, models, bikini babes
3) The free-est - nicest weather 24/7/365, we are free to hike, surf, rollerskate, ski, camp, ride bikes, walk, all while wear comfortable clothing and not having to blast heat or AC
4) The most eco-conscious - we care about the planet more than anyone and there's lots of business that move to more green models
5) Most diverse - maybe NYC has us beat, but there's tons of awesome food and festivals to celebrate our diverse population
6) The wealthiest - because of the above, our people are mostly some of the most wealthy in the country. Our houses are very expensive so it filters out those unfit to live in such an ideal society.

Everyone who hates on us is just jealous, poor, hicks. Prime real estate, prime women, prime human experience = being a Californian.

If you absolutely *have* to be close to a city, get 30-40 miles outside of KC and commute in. You'll get an inexpensive house in a rural agricultural community and your commute into KC will take you 30 mins because there's no traffic.

Right outside of KC you have a mix: Very master planned looking suburbs (the Overland Park area just outside of KC) and a lot of small, white-trash communities (KC and STL). That's why I recommend getting 30 miles or so out -- you can get the benefits of the small towns without the trash factor.

Best way to think of MO is a microcosm of the whole US -- it's got blue cities on either "coast" and a generally red interior.

If you wanted a more liberal experience but wanted to stay out of the larger cities, you could always try Columbia, in the middle of the state. It's a university town and pretty liberal.

My preferences are right/libertarian leaning, but close to a city.
For instance, I went to Pflugerville/Round Rock, Texas recently and enjoyed it.

In KC (which I know more about than STL), the big dividing line is "north of the river" (white suburbs) or "south of the river" (minority/urban for the most part).

Check out Platte County, which is just north of KC. Solid red wall of GOP elected officials and a mix of suburban/exurban/ag. Plus, it's closer to the city than what I originally mentioned and has a lot of nice-suburb amenities.

Well you see thats the hidden charm. The Mormon influence is what keeps away most of the degenerates. Yes they may be heretical but they have trad families and good community. Utah is the last defense of the Rocky Mountains before the brown horde creeps all the way up.

I lived in Nevada beforehand and it was very cool, I lived 2 hours away from Las Vegas in the very southern tip of Nevada. You could do anything out there in the middle of the wasteland. If you just enjoy 120 degree heat and the fuckin hellhole that is Las Vegas being the only thing generating money in your entire state then its right for you. Went back to Las Vegas recently and I walked underneath a bridge where people were just shirtless doing drugs living in a tent. Also alot of black dudes and very many Asians.

Plus Nevada is just one climate, a fuckin desert wasteland that is 120 degrees in the summer. The thing I like about Utah is that we got the best of both worlds.
The cool western landscaped and arches in Southern Utah plus the desert oasis in Zion. And the 4 seasons in the north where all the Mountains and cool scenes are. I live right next to the mountains close to Ogden
