Yes if you take it for years. Anti malaria medications are taken everyday while in a risky country, usually twice a day. The only people who got side effects were those at war for years, and it still wasn’t that many people. Taking this for corona treatment is probably the lowest risk medicine out there.

It will fuck you if you take a gram a day, the actual dose is about half that, which is why medical doctors are taking it themselves prophylactically. Take 500-600mg and you're fine.

There is some anectotal evidence from doctors claiming that the hydrochloroquine and zinc does wonders for the virus. I'm not a doctor but from what I've read hydrochloroquine increases zinc absorption and zinc stops the virus from reproducing.

Yes, it's the zinc that binds to the same receptors that the virus uses, which blocks the virus. The HCQ improves the activation of the zinc. So if you can't get HCQ, you can at least take lots of zinc along with C. I had a fever a couple weeks ago so I took a megadose of both and went to bed. Broke the fever within a few hours. I don't think it was Corona, but I didn't want to be sick with something else if it did come along.

It's important to make the distinction between chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. The latter has less severe side effects and is the one currently being used for treatments.
HCQ + Zinc administered within 2-5 days of symptom onset. That's what I'm hearing. Also, you can't wait until someone is in a severe state. This should be early treatment.
