I personally want to lose weight and get skinny again first, I want agility and to be light so I can climb and run easier, I started running, I will lift a little bit but mass doesn't matter, in a SHTF scenario you won't have an abundance of first world food options to maintain that mass.

Exactly. Being able to run and ruck are the two most important physical capabilities. Having strong legs and a strong back will help with both, but being “YOK’D AF” is counter-productive.

I understand cardio, legs, and core are the most important, but I don't understand how having well-developed upper body strength would be counter productive.

Im 1y on keto and I went back to lifting 3 months ago. I train every day for 2h+ in the morning fasted. I wait 2hours with eating after workout to build up hgh. I break my fast with 30-40 glucose and 30 - 40 fructose from honey and 3/4 scoop of protein along with 1 tbsp of himalayan salt with water and 1 bulletproof coffee. I also supplement with iodine and paint my balls with it(no joke) to increase testosterone. I supplement with vitamins, additional zinc, vit b2 and b3(very little as it make a rash all over my body with more than 100 mg). I never felt so fucking good and never had so much energy and never lifted so much as I do now. Im also on nofap for like 200days. Get on keto, fags.

you can build dense muscle, meaning you can lift heavy but look normal. I disagree with OP shit because it was based on a body builder, not a power lifter. lifting heavy is very practical, you can move your refrigerators around, washers/dryers, building materials for home DIY, etc, and you wont get worn out and tired, youll continue the next day not even sore because you've already conditioned your body when you're not doing these things.

Not that guy but have been jogging, eating correctly also and recently bought a cheap weight set. How effective and simple can a home workout really get? Do you HAVE to use a bench? What’s the minimal amount of supplies truly needed to get in good shape at home?

I started doing that shit because I couldn't be bothered going to the gym. First things I bought after a few weeks and getting used to the routine were thick chains & a battle rope. Made the exercises kinda fun. Also whenever I have a girl around and shes like "why do you have massive chains and a rope hanging there?" they froth up when I tell them its for working out

Reminder to do cardio trainig on top of your strength training.
Don't make the mistake of training only strength like I did.

Add light jogs to your routine to get big stamina and heart gainz.
If you think that kills strength gains you're dumbass, light jogging has very low impact.
