Alright, so I get that Harry Potter is thematically basic, and the main characters are literal children. I get that. But that's not unique even in the homogenized normie media that your average simple-minded adult consumes. Is it that the main villain is so basic (in that they are purely evil without motivation or redemption) that anyone/anything can be substituted in its place? Is it just the magic? Harry Potter is more embedded in the millenial mind because it was far more popular than Star Wars in the early to late 00s, which happens to be the time when most millennials were in their teenage and young adult years. So they have a strong affinity to Harry Potter because it was so prominent in their early adolescence. It's also a faux kind of nerdy that is just cool enough to be liked by most people without being too challenging, pretentious, or intimidating.

I really enjoyed the Harry Potter books. Harry's age in the books as they came out was roughly the same as mine, and it gave me a way to escape my tedious teenage years.
What I don't understand is how the people who parrot the "Trump is Voldemort" crap fail to remember the more important themes of separating education from government intervention, media pushing government propaganda by printing libelous claims against Harry and Dumbledore, and the corruption inherent in bureaucracy.
There are better book series out there, for sure, but as a first foray into anti-government literature, it serves its purpose fairly well.
