I share your view, OP. I used to be more sympathetic to Snowden. Then I read his book and, frankly, the privacy violations that he describes there were minor. There are ways to blow the whistle without turning in government secrets to authoritarian regimes (all the info he gave to journalists is now with Russia). I understand Snowden's concerns about privacy and perhaps his intentions were good. Still, he could have done this stuff in a legal way.
