Bought market rights to produce drugs for life threatening diseases which had just gone out of patent in the US. Tiopronin, which was previously $1.50 a pill, was raised to $30 a pill. Patients for the rare disease treated by the pill had to take 10 to 15 pills a day to survive.
Similarly, when his business bought the rights to produce the drug Daraprim, prices rose $13.50 a pill to $750 a pill.
These are what initially set the public against him, before his securities fraud.
