the problem with socialism and communism is that incentives are horrible. Anything disruptive is a risk. If you try something new under free market and it works better than existing solutions you make a profit. Under socialism/communism at best you get a medal.
If what you proposed doesn't work you lose money under free market, in socialism/communism you get fired, or at worst imprisoned/executed for 'sabotage'.
As you can see, the risk/reward ratio leads to stagnation under socialism/communism even if people are otherwise honest and don't take bribes. There's no rational reason to try anything new.
This can be observed empirically. USSR and even North Korea was growing fast in the first decades after the war. Why - because all that was necessary was growing existing technology. However, they were completely unable to improve anything short of stealing designs from the West, at which point the collapse of the system is inevitable.
That, and obvious corruption at every level.

It can't work without forcing Western nature into something it isn't. We have to be held at gun point to be re-educated into the hive mindset, and not question authority. We work for ourselves and pay into a system to uphold an economy for a better lifestyle all round.
