>FORT BRAGG, N.C. — It is darkness like you’ve never seen. The air you breathe could kill you in moments. All of your fire support — air, armor, artillery — is useless. The walls and ceiling could collapse. Communications will fail. A wrong turn leaves you utterly alone.
>U.S. Army leaders say the next war will be fought in mega-cities, but the service has embarked on an ambitious effort to prepare most of its combat brigades to fight, not inside, but beneath them.
>Tunnel systems and irregular urban warfare are essentially advanced methods of cover and concealment. Given that the mission of the infantry is to “locate, close with and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver,” if the enemy can prevent us from locating him or closing with him, it will be nearly impossible for us to destroy him.

Fucking North Korea thats why. Guess how much under ground bunker they have in that country? They could probably put the whoel population underground in the event of a nuclear war.
Charles Nguyen
not to mention the underground cities in Russia/NK/Middle east.
How the fuck is Trump so good at this president shit? He's hitting all the right notes while half the country, hell half the world is against him along with no positive media coverage etc.
If the commies stop being losers and get behind Trump, they'll wreck the world (he's still doing it) but just slowly due to obstruction BS half the time
kek also pic related which I think is a pipe dream but still
>how is trump so good at this president shit? Because he is actually doing his job instead of murdering and raping children and doing favors for the moneyed cabals. He is also not pulling pure partisan bullshit.

Tell John DeLancie to fuck off

While a fight like that would sometime be necessary, why would anyone want to fight for a whole city? That would be a massacre on both sides. Just siege it until they either surrender or send civilians out, then literally smoke it. Whatever important could there be for winning the war? Alternatively just weld every exit from the underground shut as you work the streets.
I am dead fucking serious dude, time travel. Look into Looking Glass. Call it a larp. Call A.L.I.C.E fake. He knows a lot more than people understand. His uncle John Trump was close with Nikola Tesla. Do NOT underestimate that connection. The man is packed to the brim with knowledge beyond your understand. Trump is no fool, he is far from a moron despite what many believe. 20 years from now, you will know without a second of a doubt what I am saying.
Isaac Sullivan
If I had to guess this is the US wanting to right what went wrong in Vietnam. You're not supposed ot send wave after wave and bomb after bomb at guerrillas. But maybe with this new training we can fucking make that work.
This sounds like literal nightmare fuel. It's dark. It's quiet. You can't breathe. You can't see. You can't run. You are forced to walk towards the enemy, and that's it.
Does anyone have that spooky greentext story? The one where the soldier fights a wendigo in a sewer? It'd be like that, but in real life.
Oliver Hernandez
>His uncle John Trump was close with Nikola Tesla you're drunk again joe? go to bed

I know it, pic related man has won and achieved everything there is to win? I mean what the fuck didn't he achieve? pinnacle of success imo
It's always a leaf, ALWAYS. The antarctic, the time device, the mystery plane. Leafs and Kikes are the first to dispatch. Your location is known, you have failed and lost. Give up your information war. The truth is coming at an alarming rate. I will see your corpses fail and wallow. The victor is coming, and the light is shining.

Actually that gives me an idea. Since it's just a long tunnel and you will never be flanked, battlesuits with power-cords would become feasible. It would be like this
1) Locate the enemy 2) Smokescreen 3) Battlesuits equipped with thermal imaging engage in CQB The enemy infantry definitely wont have such vision, so even if they have RPGs to knock battlesuits out with, their accuracy will be 0%. Only a lucky direct hit would work - and if you get close enough, they wont kill themselves with the blast...
Benjamin Morris
>someone told Trump about this sick new map called operation metro and how it was dominated by a bunch of Russians
Jack Myers
An rpg going off near someone is going to incapacitate even if they are in armor. Concussive force is not something to fuck with
Jose Hernandez
>Does anyone have that spooky greentext story? The one where the soldier fights a wendigo in a sewer? +1 request
Christopher Foster
I mean, you know they're not primarily concussive right? That's not how they fuck vehicles up..
I think it's time for some 40k tier melee weapons.
Tyler Turner
>not primarily concussive -t goldeneye 64 wizard
Also you are doubleposting.
Luis Kelly
Then you just need more armor. Crewmen inside a tank surely don't give a shit.
In fact, forget the battlesuits, just create a state-of-the-art tankette, with a VR guided little 7.62mm turret on top.
Ayden Thomas
>more armour >more breathing >doesn't know about IGA
This has been a part of USN and USMC doctrine for a while, and accelerated most notably after the start of the Afghanistan campaign. The Mountain Warfare Training Facility in La Posta happens to have an old sat-tracking tower and radome (previously part of SDEW) on top of a hill... the hill is pretty well-honeycombed and a former Cold War bunker/fallout shelter. I am not sure if the plan ever got off the ground to use THIS facility for UCO training, but it was on the table when I EAOS'd a few years back.
Julian Russell
I actually do know, but I cant imagine that happening to a whole tunnel network. And it's not some 17th century mine made by children, either, but modern and wide. Besides, with a tankette you could always carry some spare oxygen inside. Or just ventilate the tunnels. Or... if there's no oxygen, there's no enemies either. Duh.
Ryder Rogers

Why not just flood them? It works for me when i flood wasp's nest every year.
Brayden Adams
Well, you can still take over all the metro lines with them. And that gives me an even better idea... ARMORED TRAINS! Complete with everything a company of infantry needs for their weekly activities and fire support, acting as a mobile FOB.
Aaron Stewart
been reading this too and seems they're finetuning their approach bretty hard too and making a complete wing rather than just using subterranean warfare as a side skill
If Trump admin can master this, they will be unbeatable but it's a steep hill since NK/Russia seem way ahead at the moment in terms of superiority from my research
We can also put them underground in the event of a nuclear war.
Easton Wood
Very time consuming and resource intensive to establish and operate as I understand it

all of our enemies combined don't have our budget, i don't think we comprehend what our military could really do in an all out situation
Camden Lopez
LOL, did this with a girlfriend's father near Tišnov, only with gasoline and into a squirrel hole where wasps were going in and out on the edge of his garden. About a 3mx3m area and 12 squirrels went up. My first contact with the Policie came an hour later, but they werelaughinf too much as he explained to do anything but tell him to not do it again. Crazy ex postman dude. His routine was Becherovka every morning, wild ideas by noon, hijinks by dinner, pass out by 8. Girlfriend was constantly embarrassed and wanted to go back to Prague within an hour of any visit. Good times.
Jaxson Perez
I think I literally have a fetish for large underground systems. Like I don’t get erect but I get extremely excited and giddy at the thought of living in large spaces or many rooms underground
Blake Wright
This. If the great powers fight another conventional war, doctrine will call for surrounding cities and laying siege, not going in to fight conventional forces. That would be disastrous.
Urban warfare will only continue to be an element in guerrilla conflicts, where one side will already have material superiority in any event.
Lucas Smith
D.U.M.B.s? It certainly isn't (((Trump))) doing this, he is a kike just signing shit.
Ryder Jones
because the military is full of retarded doctrine preparing for ww2 2.0 they think this insurgent stuff is just a distraction from the real job of preparing for ww3.
Lots of subways and underground places in cities hence why they are doing this training. not that fucking complicated tards.
Nolan Peterson
Sounds like an awesome video game.
Oliver Parker
>Does anyone have that spooky greentext story? The one where the soldier fights a wendigo in a sewer? This desu
Jason Gray
Any armored suit that would allow for proper mobility is not durable enough to prevent the concussive blast from killing the occupant. We are not talking about tanks, but tankers have a long and stories history of brain and orgam trauma with external signs from RPG impacts, which would be even more of a concern when it will be reflected back by tunnel walls.
Matthew Parker
>they're not primarily concussive >doesn't realize all HE is primarily concussive
We are nowhere near 40k-tier melee.weaponry. Monofilament knives and chainswords/knives are still in the real of science-fiction. No chassis made with even bleeding-edge supermaterials would be able to handle the sheer force of the engine that could spin a chain at supersonic speeds. It would shake itself apart and explode on contact.
Joshua Edwards
With no external signs, rather.
