He's right
We're playing an emotional game to keep others from panicking, it isn't a good job
A good job would be to do nothing and let the virus run its course, the surge lasts 3 to 4 weeks before the majority of the population has gained immunity through exposure and the virus is suppressed by an inability to find new hosts.
Instead what we are doing is the same eventual process but in slow motion, ensuring that no herd immunity will be effectively built in time, and guaranteeing more deaths than a hands off approach.
Immunity for this virus is not something that will last forever and may only last as long 3 to 6 months, locking down social gatherings for this duration of time squanders the opportunity to use this to our advantage and will result in a second wave of infections.
The reason why China has fared so well with this virus is because they had the smallest preparation time and the virus was able to infect a large proportion of the population before their containment measures went into place. The story is the same in south korea.
Treatment of the disease would be most effective as symptom management than to attempt to attack the infection. The virus doesn't kill anyone. It prompts the immune system to attack the respiratory mucosa, this damaged mucosa facilitates bacterial growth ie pneumonia, which is what is killing people.

My dad got the corona and he’s on the HCQ and Z-Pack drug combo, he says he’s feeling better.
James Miller
This is also what happened with SARS and why the outbreak timelines for these related viruses are
>2003
>2012
>2019/20
Because it takes that long for enough people to come around without immunity to the virus enough that another outbreak can occur.

because that dumb faggot ignores all actual research in favor of a nationwide lockdown and instead tell everyone 6 billion people are going to die because muh masks and ventilators. i hope trump will do the right thing and open things back up, being indoors and eating canned and frozen foods isn’t doing anyone any favors, and neither is avoiding people with a virus that we could already have immunity to
Evan Sullivan
It is nothing to do with the drug, it is that there will always be a certain percent of cases that do not respond to treatment and as the overall case load peaks that percent is going to get to be a huge actual number.

A million won't drop dead unless we continue our present course, but even then this is unlikely to happen as the current measures are insufficient to stop the spread of covid throughout the population.
There is nothing they, or anyone, can do.

this will be the 3rd or 4th coronavirus pandemic and nothing has be done buy any government.
we are no better off than we were for the 1st one
Lucas Garcia
Chloroquine is not new to coronaviruses and was proposed for use in treating SARS 1 back in 2003.
Short form, it works to reduce infections in lab cultures. More is better. But when used by human subjects it has a narrow therapeutic index which means the ideal therapeutic dose is very close to a lethal dose. It also doesn't work that well post-infection.
There is maybe some application in patients with weak immune systems who will be unable to develop their own defense, but for otherwise healthy people the guidelines for SARS 1 are still just fever reducers, ventilation, and antibiotics to stave off secondary infections (pneumonia). I don't see it being much different here.
Your immune system cannot develop antibodies against a virus it was never exposed to.
>don't get all the case at once and overwhelm the system
The system would need to cope with 3 to 4 weeks of high volumes before it would quickly drop off again.
Getting all the cases at once is the point. It resolves the outbreak faster and the total strain on the healthcare system is lower than it will be by spreading infections out over a long period of time.
The only way to combat pandemic is herd immunity. Containment is not an option when the virus is ubiquitous. And that outcome will happen regardless of how slow we do it. Slowing down the rate does nothing but delay the arrival of growth rate inflection points. It is now April 5. Had we not implemented distancing and shutdown policies we would already be beyond the peak in the US.
The amount of chloroquine necessary to eliminate an active SARS 2 infection is greater than the lethal threshold.
Luke Gomez
TOP KEK KIKES cannot cope
Robert Williams
south korean government gave one of their biotech companies a billion $ to study sars and after the wave of disease passed they stopped work and forgot about it.
maybe in 5-10 years we'll have another one and they'll work on it again for a year
modern politicans can't think/plan long term
William Taylor
You realize that hydrochloriquine was never touted as a cure, it's a preventative that slows the immune response to the virus. Immune response causes pneumonia, which is what kills you. So you're literally retarded, it actually helps. It buys time.
Kill yourself chaim
Ayden Adams
you think if a million drop dead in the street and a 10s of millions more just have to go home and hope for the best the government would survive?
Nolan Brown
trump is already talking about getting people back to work again. if there a new huge wave of sick and deaths he'll be finished
Dylan Evans
>if a million drop dead in the street
Like I told you before, this isn't likely to happen at all. Distancing makes it more likely.
>go home and hope for the best
You should not go home. Not only is home a place where the virus is much less likely to be destroyed versus outdoors, but it delays immunity development. Old people and people with weakened immune systems should stay home. Young, healthy people should spread the virus among themselves, develop immunity, and starve the virus of new hosts. When they are over their infections (for which most will not even have moderate symptoms) vulnerable people can rejoin society. That's how you beat a viral outbreak.
If governments should worry about anything, using draconian policy that is not effective and in many ways counterintuitive is a good place to start.
Samuel Reed
There is going to be a new wave of infections because we've all been isolated and are at square one, still now, in April. It is a direct result of social distancing.
Caleb Morris
Dylan Rivera
>Distancing makes it more likely.
retard
>but it delays immunity development
retard
Adam Morales
Aren't you the same faggot who spams every thread with CHINA DINDU NUFFIN propagranda?
Kevin Walker
What part don't you understand? Distancing delays immunity development which allows the virus to remain an epidemic in the population and causes further deaths.
What do you think happens to a person who is isolated from the world from birth, just a thought experiment? Do you think this person would be stronger or weaker than the population?
Easton Roberts
Bentley Foster
Epidemics kill by first infection, before any immunity is developed. The death rate from coronavirus is around 1%, which could kill millions of people if it is allowed to spread. Retard.
Austin Cook
Jack Martin
I bet a lot of people will be pissed about going back to their minimum wage dead end jobs because trump says the economy has to be saved
James Hernandez
Its actually wildly successful. People who want to help others are actually using it. Greedy Jews and canadians are shilling against it
Alexander Fisher
It has already spread. People are going to die, you cannot avoid this. What stops pandemics? We are now talking about isolating the entire world.
I wonder how pissed they will be if in six months we are still isolating and the virus has yet to abate.
Eli Brown
Works fine bro
