Two reasons.
One, they're champagne socialists championing a "better" system in order to feel like they're advancing society in some way, but without actual effort and risk, social or otherwise. Same as progressives.
Second reason is because they correctly perceive capitalism as a soulless, failing system, but the only openly apparent opponent to capitalism is marxism. As such, they make the decision to do the only thing they can see to do, and join a marxist movement.
The first person is worthless in every sense, and cannot be converted to anything else, as it would involve personal discomfort in some way. The second person could be convinced that third positionism is a far better opponent to capitalism, but it takes some effort.
Generally, convincing them that the jews are an issue works, but other aspects of the third position can work as well.
