Most of the talk of provinces breaking away and joining the US involve Alberta but it's more likely that the Atlantic provinces end up as part of the US. Not really. The planet is awash in oil now, in some markets it is trading at a negative value. The production pipeline for turning softwood trees into products is very long, which means there's plenty of buffer in it. The only thing I can think of that Canada sells to the US that can't quickly be replaced is hothouse tomatoes in the winter but winter is over. You're mostly harmless. Might be able to give a mosquito bite or two but then you get squashed, are dead, and we go about our day. Canada simply has no leverage.
