Ever since casually stumbling upon Yas Forums when I was 15 years old, I have noticed a significant decline in quality and the discussion on this website, mainly attributable to slide posts by 'bad actors'. In this thread, I attempt to propose a solution.
The solution to this is filtering. I do not legitimately believe that the majority of Yas Forums is as retarded as they seem. They simply are uneducated on the old board culture. Yas Forums has always attracted the rejects of society, and the 'bad actors' know this, and to exploit it, have launched a series of campaigns (which you list) that have effectively demonstrated the ability to derail our subculture.
If we make a push to produce Original Content that promotes mass adoption of specific thread filters, I believe, for at least a while, slide threads will disappear. (Until this wordlist is broken, and needs to be updated.)
The issue is that most of this board is phone posters, whereas maybe 5 years ago this was not the case. It is thus important that we
a.) educate the casual population about the presence of "advanced" features of this website
b.) provide a continuously updated, effective, and comprehensive filter to the 'bad' threads

These threads are inflammatory in nature. The 'bad actors' do not care if they are right or not. Instead, these are are designed to keep you distracted for as long as possible. It is very important that we get the general population of Yas Forums to understand this as a whole.

The way that Yas Forums organizes thread filters is through Regular Expressions, also known as RegEx. I am a programmer and in an upcoming post I will detail how the casual user can use RegEx to help filter out slide threads.
The culture of OC used to be an internet wide thing that went away after aggregation websites were created that stored data indefinitely. It will be very hard to instill this sort of culture in the newer Yas Forums audience as they have never seen it. I propose we make examples if possible.
As for phone posters, I don't have anything specific against phone posters except that they can't apply filters, and I admit I lurk here more on my phone now than on my computer, so perhaps we would have to explore the possibility of apps that would allow filters to be applied.
It may generally not be an issue to not have filters if we could educate people on how to spot slide threads.

A theme amongst 'bad' posts is the use of common language. Often designed to inflict a strong emotional response, and thus bumps, they all follow some common patterns, which I circled in red.

By filtering out these words, we filter out a good chunk of these threads, and help keep this board clean.

On the dot this is correct. Yas Forums in nature hasn't changed, although it's content has. This website is still structured in the same way it was in '03 for the most part. The spirit of spontaneity lives too!

This remains a critical flaw in the way mobile devices were engineered. 'Quick and easy' web access for those with short attention spans became prominent in the early 2010's. The demographic of the Yas Forums user is that of a 16 to 24 year old male with a higher than average (usually significantly so) IQ. This never changed with the phones. If we teach these people how filters were done, slide threads will meet their end once mass adoption takes place.

Android apps have filters. iOS does not have a 'proper' client (the last one was updated in 2016). The javascript version of this website does have one however (to my surprise). It's very buried though!

They will never forgive this site for their role in that, and so a large part of the garbage you now see is a direct retribution. In addition, this remains one of the last true refuges online where people can go and largely say anything they like without fear of being censored, downvoted, blocked, or whatever other form silencing takes. Wherever we go, the forces of silence will follow. This is the last stand, in many ways, of free speech on the internet. The format of anonymity is what keeps it going, which is also why namefagging and tripcodes are treated with such disdain. A viable alternative is virtually impossible in the current environment of Web 2.0.

I do not think the slide thread is as complicated a beast as anons here are making it out to be, they generally follow a similar language and pattern and aim to provoke a similar sort of emotional response.
I don't think there is any arms race as we have never really deployed any arms to fight them before. Perhaps if we do so, they will adapt to become more subtle but as of right now, they stick out like a sore thumb.
