WW3 is already happening, just not in the sense that you understand war. War has changed, it's no longer about soldiers shooting at each other, that's just a business.
Superpowers (conglomerates) and economical hubs (countries) dispute influence in the thirld world. You expand your empire by applying your economical doctrines to other nations. Cold wars are now the face of war as you would commonly think of it.
Open conflict between military powers on respective lands is highly unlikely to happen, the majority of nations simply don't want it. Everything is done through the backdoor now. One you'll wake up and Google will own half your country while Amazon is taking care of the other half. Welcome to globalism.
