I actually started skating last year at the age of 30. You're going to eat shit A LOT but if you keep with it, you'll be keeping up with the young kids. I can't do any flip tricks yet but I can powerslide and kickturn with no problems.

It can be quite hard on the body. Throwing yourself on the ground is not that comfortable, which is what you do most of the time. It's all worth it when you land some cool trick though. It's also a creative sport, not a 'i can do more X in Y time' type of thing.

2. Challege and push yourself and discover what you are capable of and what it takes to get there. Landing a new trick after working at it for days/weeks/months keeps you motivated.
3. Super effective high energy exercise routine, no fatties. In 30 minutes, you can gas out if you are working a new trick or line repeatedly. Do it 4 days a week and you will be Yas Forums as fuck.
4. No one will judge you, whether you suck or are good.
5. Age isn't an issue. I'm 38. Stopped in my 20's, started up again at 36. Currently better than I was then, just less wreckless.
