Crew chants corona virus whistleblower captain Crozier's name as he is forced to leave his ship

"Here is Captain Crozier walking away from his ship while sailors chant his name after he was relieved from duty for blowing the whistle on a coronavirus contamination aboard the USS Roosevelt.

He sacrificed himself and it sounds like everyone knows it.

I've always thought that whites were very prone to self-sacrifice for the greater good. We're not perfect at it, but it's a thing we do.

It has a down-side - self-destructive altruism - but here's a good side of that same impulse.

Sure thing. This propaganda is so desperate. Why is it always the Navy filled with subversives and traitors?

This is insane

America will lose WW3 because it can't keep secrets, simple as that, even among military personnel they couldn't trust people to not tell their family on a phone call or something.

What's best for the crew isn't always what's best for the Navy, part of being the leader is being able to serve the latter even when it harms the former. If he can't do that then he isn't fit to command a warship

Why are you defending the captain of an aircraft carrier who made the entire world aware that its ship could be infected and therefore giving any potential enemies information that there is a potential weakness and chance to attack a carrier because of it?

If this was any other time, he'd be lucky to not be sentenced for life as a traitor.

Also - the virus is no excuse, you're never supposed to give information out like that, you're putting at risk a multi-billion dollar carrier, hundred jets, and a bunch of other shit in jeopardy.

You join the military, you chose to man that ship at any cost, you're not signing up for a holiday, you're signing up to defend your nation, let the people take care of it, its not your job to tell the world anything, especially not when you're in command and control of all those assets and youve sworn to defend your country and man that equipment in every situation that occurs.

This shows a WEAKNESS in the command here, very bad sign. We should have heard about the coronavirus infections on this carrier in history lessions 20 years in the future, not today while its happening.

Don't think I'd want to be on his ship
