You have a tiny city like NYC with millions of people who commute to work in subway and train smooshed up against one another, a very social city where people go out and drink and do stuff on the weekends, you've got millions of kids in schools pushed together, etc...This all just stopped like a week and a half ago. It usually takes about a week to two weeks for symptoms to arise. Also, you factor in the panic-shopping and people visiting relatives, then you factor in the slow spread through other states that haven't been hit as badly, etc...It all makes sense. I don't expect the curre to start flattening for about a week or two, and even then I expect that there might even be another larger wave, when the quarantine is finally lifted, then it will fizzle away for the summer and return in the fall. That's basically my prediction for America. The government should have been prepared and handed out boxes of n95 masks and gloves to citizens. We could have had ZERO interruption in our lives, everything moving along basically as usual if the government had simply anticipated this and done it's job correctly. Unfortunately these people are wasting our tax money and not focused on protecting the American people at all.
