Using any kind of cleaning material like alcohol, hydroxide, etc will kill 99.9% of the virus but will also severely degenerate the fiber structure in the mask. This has been studied before in hospitals, hence why modern hospitals are using their autoclaves to disinfect masks now with the shortage.
