Well I do think there are definitely some positives, but I don’t know if I’d necessarily say they outweigh the downsides, and they’re only applicable on an individual level. People’s different viewpoints, especially those that deviate from the norm, do offer certain values that people with more common qualities don’t.
Like being bilingual for example -
1. You can interact with more people that your organization may have connections with.
2. You’re able to think about things from different angles because certain words/themes have different meanings to you based off of which lens you can consciously decide to view them from.
