Heimbach and co are not the only people to be deradicalized. Many anonymous posters have simply lost interest. Nobody has to start an NGO if they were anonymous to begin with. These people have been burned out just like Heimbach.

You're comparing anonymous shitposters to people like Heimbach who were railroaded by the legal system and pretty forced into this to avoid jail time. He's only "deradicalized" because he doesn't want to see his family from a visitor's center in prison. It's not really the same to say you're "burned out" from assblasting people on social media vs getting burned out from the constant threats to your life and livelihood that a public figure faces. You aren't wrong that people lost interest in these things, but I don't think it's the same as someone who gets "deradicalized." I've pretty much completely ignored most current events and commentary on it and focus on philosophy and history while improving my own life. But my beliefs are as radical as ever. Anonymity is great for speaking without a filter but it doesn't get very far in terms of actually enacting change unless it's a mass movement with tons of energy. Those that seriously left their beliefs because they got bored were never really in it and that anonymity gave them the safe and easy option to tap out. The problem is that that only leaves a few egomaniacs mostly obsessed with their brand more than the truth or a broader message, which is why there's so much bullshit infighting among the more radical or active people
