I work in a family owned chain retail store chain, we had to lay off over 100 people, government says they will pay 75% of their salaries, our government will go bankrupt probably in 2 months because of this... Many more countries in the same situation, It is the end lads its already too late

Laid off. Boiler/stationary engineer/maintenance . Not enough business to keep the company running. Winery, vineyard, restaurant, bed breakfast. The owners laid off 50 people and are making hand sanitizer on their own for local pharmacy and hospitals/first responders

I make 13.50 at my job 40 hours a week. Roughly 540 a week pre-taxes around 400 a week after taxes. Unemployment is giving me 190 a week. It also caps out at 2k total then it stops giving me anything at all. My girlfriend makes 9.50 and works 25-30 hours a week and she is only getting $64 a week from unemployment, hers caps out at 700ish total then it stops. We live in North Carolina.

I'm fucked, even with the trumpbux. I lived paycheck to paycheck. Sucks, but I'll find a way.

I don't know if they changed it because so many people are applying or what, I had always heard that you make 350 a week from it here but they're just giving me 190 and my gf 64.

The AMC near where I live a few months ago had the bright idea that they pay their staff less than the nightly cleaning crew, so they fired their cleaning crew and told their teenage minimum wage employees that in addition to their job they have to clean the entire theater and bathrooms every night. They had to stay until 3-4am cleaning still at minimum wage. Two weeks into it every single floorstaff quit. The theater had to shut down for a week to re-hire staff and actually find a new night crew

I got let go right before corona because the US economy was shit even before that. And now I can't get a new job because nobody is hiring.
Fuck this, I hope the virus just kills off the boomers and we can rebuild the economy.

I'm up to 14h days. There's so much freight moving due to increased product demand we can't keep up. We don't have the drivers or equipment. No one does. Working from home, but they're pushing for 16h a day hard. This sucks ass, I liked my lazy nightshift, I could vidya all night and get paid.

My contract was a 6-months and by LAW here the first 6 months are called probation. It was not renewed because we lost customers and no new contracts coming in. Thankfully I can apply for Unemployment, but it is reduced now as duration. Also I will be getting 45% of what I used to (im hitting the unemployment CAP we have here). To top it all off, currently very few IT companies are hiring due to the quarantine.

We just shifted all our classes to be online classes.

Truck driver. Food service delivery, supplying food to medical facilities and grocery stores. None of us got laid off.

I’m a recent hire even, my training pay is $250 a day. Drivers after training make $0.36 a case. We have like 1,500 cases per route, over the course of a day or two.

Our company won’t shut down until society completely collapses, and there’s no food in the grocery stores.

I build shit for the military. I'm fine, but I really do feel bad for people that aren't in the same boat as me. Thank God I started this job in January when the virus was just cooking. I narrowly escaped a bullet, because I had run my 6 mo of unemployment out. Now is not a fun time to be looking for work, from what I hear. I work for PFG. Our hub is new in the area, so we’re hurting for drivers in order to fulfill new local accounts that we’re know for servicing nation wide, etc. I got hired a few weeks ago and they said they’re giving me my own route 4 weeks early so I can help out.

Glad they kept you user, foodservice is a decently physical job for trucking and it pays well. Best thing that’s ever happened to me desu.
