I drive a 5-speed DX version of that, why is it shit? I maintain it myself and it runs 100%. Even replaced the bearings in the trany myself. I would like to get a new car, but 43 dollars a month for insurance for a 180k mile car that lasts 300k is more satisfying. And it's fun to drive.

I'm with you. I have a 2000 honda accord that has more miles on it than the distance between the earth and moon. I'm poor so I do my own repairs. When I bought it 8 years ago I looked up cars that had the lowest insurance claims per number of cars sold. I've had to change an idler pulley and window gear but the car thrives on neglect. I don't know if Honda is worth a shit now but I'd be very reluctant to buy an American made car.
