He knew what the consequences might be but he seemed to think that if he made enough noise, they wouldn't come after him because then they'd be admitting that he's telling the truth. If they sued him, they'd have to have a discovery period where all this would come out in the open. He was probably seriously threatened right before this video. He thought he was safe enough, but he was wrong.
Honestly a hero in my book, very few would have the balls to do what he did. Not a wasted death.
