works procede from faith. an absolute faith in Christ would result in a Godly life and good works. doesn't mean you are mistake-free, but generally an authentic faith should result in a godly disposition in how one lives his life and repentance when one fails. the idea of believing God yet living a life full of debauchary with no repentance or consideration for God beyond the supposedly mere fact that you believe in Him is obviously impossible. that's not faith.
