God knows. If you can manipulate stat numbers you can do lots of things. Drug companies do this, not quite selection bias but it's the same trickery.

In my province there was an update of how many tests were positive and negative. Negative tests are far more common, like 15 to 1. So what about a false positive? Its suspicious but everybody is going along with the shutdown.

I remember seeing a chart that the total number of deaths last week was down by about 7000-10000 in the US. Fewer auto accidents, I'd imagine.

they stopped counting them last month there's absolutely 0 data available for the numbers of death by the flu past February coming out of Italy I searched multiples hour yesterday.

Using this logic, we wouldn't see an overall dramatic increase in the amount of deaths, though, right? In particular, you could find the actual coronavirus death toll by simply comparing the net increase in deaths to what the total was before. Not reliably, obviously, but in order to get a ballpark that would more or less prove the idea that corona death reporting is sensationalism and nothing more. I'm not into math or statistics, but this problem probably has established analytical approaches that can probably be easily applied. The question is why are people arguing with shit like "see this? its all a hoax!" when they can use actual numbers and reasoning to do it. The nothingburgerism seems more sensationalist than the coronapanic sensationalism by a wide margin from where I'm sitting.
