I am English but transposed to the United States no I would not.

The previous three generations of my family the men were all soldiers. I am working class and would not have been able to use influence or connections to dodge around it. I studied English so that would not have got me a deferment for college. My friends are working class and would have got drafted if they were yanks, so I would have gone as well out of solidarity.
