What the FUCK is wrong with nurses?

PPE shortage btw.

Why not just quarantine the masks for a week after use and reuse them?

Blame hospital policy. You are required to do this or they fire you.

Liability. AKA: "The Jews Did This"

You can reuse N95 masks if sterilized at 70c for 30m in a normal oven without loss of filtration

m.box.com/shared_item/https://stanfordmedicine.box.com/v/covid19-PPE-1-1?fbclid=IwAR2PZXAu24OY-Jkcvp2CWc348Io9WkdLytF5vbZ5L-19ZZxueCXzr4ZOdJw

Heating them at low/med temps sanitizes with no breakdown in efficiency

>running IV tubing extensions to the patients in a quarantined room
That will end well.

Keep PPE equipment on until break time. Wear another set until you are off. What the problem is?

Better than flying through ppe.

Lines are infection portals.

Why not just keep the same mask and gloves on for an entire shift?

I can't get one now. Why do they need to take them off? 50? Can't keep on for 30 minutes? wtf

Not all wards currently look like the ones you see in webms from Italy or China. Many are still trying to keep the main corridor/nurses station/staff room as 'clean' areas.

If your goal is to kill the patients, sure.

>Robin Cox
>hello user this is nurse Robin Cox she will be assisting with your circumcision today

Wtf? This is an English speaking board, motherfucker. I don't want to translate your Chinese gobble de goo. Post Fahrenheit!

Stop

this is why america will not survive

IV related infections are a huge risk yes, we dont want it lying in the floor from pt to outside but depending on how the tubing can be protected from contact, the only real difference would be needing more saline to prime the longer tube.

PPE is meant for single use. If you dont have enough, you should consider outsourcing all your PPE production to China is an unwise policy

Why not just have one whole outfit before lunch, and another whole outfit after lunch. Then you use only 2 ppe units, instead of shredding through 50 :^)

they should just spray their face with alcohol

If you are wearing PPE, say gloves, everything you touch will be contaminated. That's why after you use the glove for its use it is discarded. That way the contamination stays on the PPE and is then discarded instead of spreading onto another surface.
Touch a doorknob, everything on that doorknob is now on your hand. Touch another doorknob, you just spread whatever was on the original knob onto the next.
It's not about just protecting yourself, it's about protecting others and preventing spreading.
Fucking leaf

>Liability. AKA: "The Jews Did This"
Basically.

>Change goggles and masks every time you enter a room
>still wear the same scrubs all day
>probably don't even have a hairnet
>probably aren't using disposable booties unless entering surgery room
Fucking retarded, pointless, and wasteful.

Attached: 1523691900584.jpg (720x960, 57.31K)

So right after they've tended to X amount of patients, their ppe gets destroyed?

if you can't bend the rules in an emergency, when you're dealing with 10 people who have THE SAME FUCKING DISEASE, then you're asking for failure.

kill youself kike/chink

>English = Fahrenheit

If the patient a, b and c are already infected, what's the difference?

They change them after every patient

158 fahrenheit. literally type "70c to f" in your browser you fucking lazy piece of shit.

Maybe only works if your entire ward is filled beyond capacity to the point normal infection control principles no longer apply. But until then, ppe is burnt through at astonishing rates because normal rules work to prevent hospital acquired infections.

What a fucking retarded motherfucker

Technically, you discard PPE after dealing with a single person, depending on the PPE. Take gloves as the easiest example. Touch an infected person. That infection is now on your hands/gloves. Do you touch a doorknob? A table? A sink? Another person? A pen? Your food? Why the fuck would you not discard PPE as soon as possible.
Also, medical fag here

Disposable ones are, normally disposable ones like goggles are now being washed. The thing is, it's not just covid, someone might have a gastro bug or mrsa and if we don't change ppe per patient we risk a second outbreak.

Hospital IT here. Most nurses are legitimately retarded and cheated on their clinicals in nursing school. I had a nurse that seriously didn't know where the power button was on a desktop.

UV-C should take care of it shouldn't it

Attached: Greta-Thunberg-UN-Climate-Forum-Getty.jpg (618x412, 38.65K)

You're a moron. The PPE doesn't only protect you. It's to keep the whatever from spreading to other surfaces. In the course of wearing PPE and tending to 10 patients you are going to touch a myriad of other things that are NOT patients, and everything you touch will now be contaminated.
You guys are fucking dumb and I hope you get this virus because you are literally too stupid to understand universal precautions and how to prevent the spreading of infectionz and should be purged.

Nurses are great. White ones at least.

Very informative, thanks

Because there is still something called universal precautions. Person A might have HIV, person B might have pink eye, person C might only have COV. If you touch the blood of person A and then touch B or C, even tho they all have COV, you are transmitting other things as well.

You don't reuse PPE, then it doesn't protect shit.

At the Cleveland Clinic, we're trialing sticking masks in the unused biological safety cabinets and turning on the UV light for a while. Watch preprint articles for more news in a couple weeks.

Tried with an autoclave using dry heat, didn't hold up. Probably the pressure. Good old fashioned normal ovens are only found in the kitchens, and they amazingly don't want anyone putting used masks there.

Because they will travel from patient to patient, room to room, and any virus on they're PPE could fall off and land on somebody. Imagine the virus as tiny specs of glitter, almost lighter than air, a good breeze could send it flying. Imagine they PPE is covered in this glitter. How do you go around ensuring that little specs of glitter don't get come off and get everywhere?

why is that faggot discarding goggles?

Attached: LionSuperb.jpg (960x720, 108.55K)

Because germs/diseases can travel on goggles. They can travel on literally anything.

Bingo ... I got a UVC globe for $20 ... 1 minute in a relfective box will sanitize a mask.

UV LIGHTS WILL CLEAN THE GOGGLES

so where do you work, who what where

Attached: Roman bait.jpg (500x486, 32.28K)

protocol guy
do you want a nurse who just got coughed on by corona-jane wearing the same ppe while working on you?
mask dont make virus disappear. mask can stay contaminated for days
masks are not forever. they are rated for how many hours at a given exposure density

>You didn't follow proto you dumb motherfucker

>Wtf? This is an English speaking board, motherfucker. I don't want to translate your Chinese gobble de goo. Post Fahrenheit!
this. only nigger countries think you freeze to death at 0° and bake to death at 48°.

Attached: Deserve.jpg (521x350, 26.62K)

We're talking about masks and goggles you fag

These people should be isolated in a box, and you should be staying in their box for hours not going in and out changing equipment

They did make a note on page 6 that they didn’t mean home oven. I think they are talking about one of those thermofisher scientific ovens (link related). Or you can try “hot water vapor from boiling water for 10 min” (p. 6)

thermofisher.com/us/en/home/life-science/lab-equipment/lab-ovens-furnaces/lab-heating-drying-ovens.html

China once reused needles during a blood drive, and also pooled donations to boot and created a massive AIDS outbreak in rural china. Thats why you dont reuse stuff

Masks, goggles, gloves, gowns, all PPE and are designed for single use before being discarded or sanitised. Wearing the same thing from one person to the next carries every germ/disease/infection from the 1st person to the next. End of story.

yes but why is she undressing every 20 mins to go play on her phone what the fuck, those nurses with the raw faces from masks and shit had there shit on a whole shift,, fucking niggers think about it fuck

I'm realizing how fuckin dumb a lot of people who work in the health care field really are after having to interact with them more often in the past few years and especially since this coronavirus shit started. They have a lot of specialized jargon and equipment with fancy-sounding names and they know a bit more than your average person about government policy as it applies very narrowly to their field, but the veneer of intelligence that provides them covers up for them just really not knowing fuck all about anything else.

Nice try, JCAHO, but I'm not giving any more specifics.

haha there's no PPE shortage I have a Scott Sari and 8 P3 filters, 2 sets of tyvek and double gloves just to go to the paki shop to buy fags and vodka nurses btfo enjoy your viral load roasties

The corona people need to be concentrated into some sort of camp AND THE NURSES SHOULD FUCKING STAY THERE

There's no fucking shortage anymore just Jewish hospitals who don't want to pay surge pricing.

Anyone who has sympathy for nurses doesn’t know any nurses

an oven would have to ducted up to have all the warm air rising out of it to outside or just put it outside, all regular oven have air traveling through them circulating, it is not sealed

I've got 10 masks for $10,000. That's too much? That's how much a single visit to your hospital costs.

We don't have these magical boxes you're speaking of. We have single rooms but we don't have enough nurses to assign a nurse to each single room. We can turn a whole ward with all of its single and shared rooms into one 'box' but now we risk sharing diseases other than covid from one patient to another.

People smarter than you or I have been mashing their heads to figure this out.

What I meant was, what if you're only treating covid patients.

Stop!

This is nuts.

In other countries they are sanitizing and reusing masks.
Some are working in adult diapers to not take breaks and resuit.

THE MAGICAL BOXES ARE CALLED OFF SITE CONCENTRATION CAMPS

>Masks, goggles, gloves, gowns, all PPE and are designed for single use before being discarded or sanitised.
and each one costs at least $1000 if I'm to believe my hospital bill.
just like Tylenol costs $75.
fucking cunts.

Well clearly the Cleveland Clinic you dolt, so you're an hour up the road from me. I'm in UH territory (Robinson) and it's quiet and life as usual around here.

Hospitals are empty around here, what's the shit in Cleveland?

these are the same kikes telling you not to eat aquarium cleaner just because some boomer took 50x the therapeutic dosage

Now come up with a plan to get the funding and political support to make covid camps a thing. You're not that smart.

I don't think its sunk in just yet how serious this may get.
once it does I think the attitudes will rapidly change.

People don't magically get smarter from working in healthcare. A person with an associate's degree is a person with an associate's, no matter if they're a chef or a nurse.

People with Covid can still have comorbidities. Some people are normally colonized with MRSA, or strep pneumoniae, and you do not want that anywhere near a ventilator.
