My ex now posts nudes, tries to sell fetish shit like feet videos and used socks, panhandles for Venmo donations, exploits thirsty dudes for travel and accommodations on her impulsive trips/moving between major cities, and is actively fishing for a sugar daddy (nowhere near attractive and young enough for that, to be frank). All a pretty far cry from when I first met her and she just seemed like an unassuming literature nerd with some issues. She even blames me for ruining her life. I don't know what broke in her brain and when, but she's absolutely batshit insane by all accounts. Raised by a single mom, abandonment issues, borderline personality disorder, depressive episodes, paranoia, explosive temper, suicidal, a real package deal. I broke up with her when I was one of her last unburnt bridges and she had a couple friends left so her next "suicide attempt" wouldn't be on my hands and I wouldn't be the one to push her into actually doing it. I felt sorry for her (later ex-)best friend (who I developed mild feelings for but never acting on), one of their spats was the breaking point where I couldn't take it anymore. As an introvert, the whole experience ruined relationships for me forever. It's like being a battery that can never hold a full charge anymore.
One of the most pretty, normal, and stable women I know has only had a couple long-term boyfriends. Even she suffers from anxiety, has occasional depressive episodes, and still lives with her parents because she's afraid of beign alone. She's turning 30 this year with no sign of the husband and family she very vocally wants. Typical "he must be 6'2", handsome, not bald, earn six figures", etc. checklist. Probably a powder keg waiting to blow within the next few years.
