Dunning Kruger Effect. Most people here have no idea what they are talking about. They are not experts, but pretend they are because they are ignorant to their stupidity.

Sage this thread

Redpilled.

So you need to make an entire new thread for your strawman instead of rebutting what the idiots are saying. Sounds like you lack an argument, nigger faggot.

Attached: 1502337516226.jpg (720x650, 44.61K)

I made a thread just for you faggot.

That isn't a rebuttal, Did you just learn about the dunning kruger effect today? Is that why you've created a thread on it?
Don't you realize you are a living example of what you're claiming this board to be?

I said MOST people not all, faggot.

Kill yourself. Goddammit the amount of 12 year olds on this board just increases everyday doesn't it?

I say you're a living example because you don't know what the dunning kruger effect is.
It isn't "people who think they are smart are actually dumb", the dunning kruger effect is that the more you learn about a subject, the less you feel you know about it.

also known as the Reddit Effect. now go back to r/politics, you programmed moron.

That's wrong. It is dumb people think they're smart because they don't have the capability to recognize they're not smart.

Top tier irony here lads

Well we let them all out of school for god knows how long.

That is only part of the definition. It's a bias belief that you know more than you actually do. Which is ironic because you are living the example of dunning kruger effect.

No, that is the state of mind before the dunning kruger takes effect. The initial state.
the effect itself is the process of learning about a subject.

>Dunning Kruger Effect
More like cringe reddit term.

Attached: 1582343749536.png (600x800, 50.3K)

No, that is the initial state.

>That's wrong. It is dumb people think they're smart because they don't have the capability to recognize they're not smart.
Interesting. You clearly do not know very much about the Dunning-Kruger effect but you continue to confidently assert that you do. I hope for your sake you are just a kid because if you are over the age of 21 you need to immediately kill yourself.

What shit does it matter when literally everyone does this asshole

Thank you for proving my point. Yas Forums always delivers!

All the schools closed user it's like Sumerfags but early

reddit is where stupid people pretend to be smart.
Yas Forums is where everyone pretends to be retarded.

like you?

How do proponents of the Dunning Kruger Effect know they aren't also stupid?

Attached: 1582511727885.png (599x656, 391.46K)

post this on a Jewish forum faggot

Including you?

Lol, OP and this faggot get blown the fuck out by a random leaf. This is great

I usually just state something as a fact and wait for some autist to correct me because i'm too lazy for research. It's a win win, i get my answer and the other guy gets to feel smart.

Attached: Sagessa.png (480x619, 513.81K)

doesn't prove your point at all, actually. we can assume that the people on Yas Forums have been looking into their subject of choice for a long while, so we can assume they're past the initial state, have already hit rock bottom, and are on their way to rising up again.

Let me tell a small secret: jews love to overcomplicate everything with their gayness, so if you don't give a shit about their labyrinth of pilpul, lies and hivemind consensus, you will be, by definition, ignorant (literally ignoring information), but they will get triggered so hard it will be nearly a mass hysteria.

He's correct about everything except for

>The more you learn about a subject...

Why do you assume people are speaking from a position of authority or expertise OP? If you can't refute the argument, that's something you need to deal with.

Amazing optics on this.
I love how its always the same white honky stereotype.
Kys

When I was a kid I was a “gifted kid” that made straight A’s in everything. I had a extreme dose of reality my junior year of engineering school and at my internship when I realized how fucking clueless I really was. I’m a B-C student now and I take my studies a lot more seriously. I feel like I exhibited the dunning kruger affect for many years

Fuck you. We are the ones who actually know what we are talking about. We can connect the dots and that's why you GATED us. Such a fitting name

It's funny. People are pretty quick to point the finger at Donald Trump for, well, that asteroid that will hit us in a few months.

But realistically, his "leadership" is simply the natural consequence of a culture that is self-indulgent, fragile, narcissistic and easily distracted. This is our fault. All of us.

I find it astonishing that any journalist working right now would think that they have the moral authority to denounce Trump - they're all part of the system that created him. And they're all complicit.

It would be like running a fairly clever raccoon for office. Journalists would pretend to be alarmed by the circumstances (how could we be here?), but would jump right on the bandwagon of turmoil because that's their bread and butter, writing the same thing over and over: warning that the raccoon might start stealing jewelry and tipping over garbage cans - and THEN would write what they thought were sufficiently convincing denouncements of everything the raccoon got its claws into. But secretly they want to see what the raccoon will do next.

Inevitablism on my part? Sure.

In my mind, though, this is entirely a systemic issue that can't simply be "blamed" on one person or one party. If opponents of Trump are really that concerned, they should blow up some mailboxes or do something more productive than whining and hurling around rape accusations. Instead they're just feigning incredulity when they know they're every bit as much a part of the problem.

I think it is because they are young.
If you are say 20, you were 16 when trump got elected.
This means you have no fucking clue about the world.
These people try to prove themselves by being tough and copy the jargon of shills.
Feigned confidence is really common among youngsters who really feel scared and insecure about things.
Overcompensation.

They will say "cringe", "retard" or what ever in lieu of real arguments.
It there was a real and enforced age limit much of it would disappear.
They are do clueless and lack perspective on life and human psychology, they cant tell shills from real posters and think the rough attitude is cool.

Dunning kruger is real though, many suffer from it, but it is a lot of pride and not being mature enough to admit when one is wrong, because the wound tot he ego is too painful.

>I don't understand it/never experienced it so it must be reddit

Welp, I guess you're right... I mean, I only knew of it superficially.

Someone watched an ASAP science video and decided to make a thread so they can inevitably get BTFO'd and complain about it on Yas Forums, /s4s/, /ck/ or Yas Forums I guarantee.

You think I was OP??????

Why not both? The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people wrongly overestimate their knowledge or ability in a specific area. This tends to occur because a lack of self-awareness prevents them from accurately assessing their Skills. This tendency may occur because gaining a small amount of knowledge in an area about which one was previously ignorant can make them feel as though they’re suddenly virtual experts. Only after continuing to explore a topic do people often realize how extensive it is and how much they still have to master.

Shrodinger's Dunning Kruger Effect

Attached: Thinking.png (474x295, 143.12K)

Fuck off, kike.

>Why not both?
Because that's not how DK Effect is defined.
The effect can apply just as equally to experts in a field as idiots. Experts tend to rate themselves as having only slightly above average knowledge, and idiots rate themselves the same.

>NOOOOOO GO AWAY

Attached: 1531753644462.jpg (601x601, 105.98K)

You included. Enjoying holocaust class dirty Mutt?

I costantly not fully understand what happens around me, and this fucking sends me nuts

What would you call it?

KYS kike

Does it count when every single friend and relative calls you smart?

i think most people will always exhibit the dunning kruger effect in both ways because the other side is when you have smart people who doubt themselves because they know their limitations while simulatenously their is a vicious circle of confident idiots who go around bullshiting themselves and others which makes things worse because often confident jackasses make more money and make better impressions than people who are honest about information because intelligent people who are honest tend to be pessimistic realists and the idiots dont want to promote or give money to pessimisstic realists.
this is why you see bullshit ads like 6 minute abs or all sorts of ridiculous self help books and pseudo religious spiritual nonsense being pushed. People dont want to take the time to learn something or invest their energy into something hard and instead want to take short cuts because in our current world everyone is trampling over everyone to get ahead and get some sort of edge.
I could say Im a master in sports supplimentation, nutrition and diet because i spent 9 years working out and doing marathon running while also becoming an expert on the male endocrine system. I know the ins and outs of nearly everything but there are people with specializied knowledge that perhaps outlcass me in certain areas. I would describe my knowledge as being like a very fine tuned swiss army knife. I get the job done across multiple fronts but if you wanted the best nutritionist, the best endorcrinoligst, the best personal trainer/massuer you might get better results if you visited 4 other people individually but i would still say im a master of my unique craft. I have even diverged into energy medicine, vibrational therapy and spiritual studies. I would say overall i am a health guru but there are likely other people who know more than i do in specialized areas where as I have intertwined all my knowledge into an interdisciplinary field.

What can I say? Direct quote from psychology today magazine.

We called that phenomenon in the military JEEP (just educated enough to piss).

Please just sage this thread, OP is not only a massive faggot, but a reddit tier retard

Why are Jews always low IQ and gay?

>flag

It's an oversimplification and not a correct definition even if it's from that magazine.

I seek guidance

Most people think they're cunning when it comes to getting through the world(street smarts) but admit their lack of knowledge about 'school subjects'.

>Most people
(You)

True, but it makes the trololol that much moar funzies

A competent person knows enough to know what they don't know. Sometimes I opine on things on which I know very little, and if someone provides a rational counter-argument, I accept it. The smartest people are those that keep learning throughout their lives.

We should never leave school
