Heard a lot of jobs were shut down all around WA. We (elec) stayed on our job. Heard Inslee is granting exemptions to commericial jobs in the area.If this virus is as bad as they say it is then half measure lockdown will fuck us. We'll see.

Firefighter here, aside from the fact I’ll probably get the virus my employment is beyond stable at this point, we are so over run with it and have so many guys off duty due to exposure or infected I can work as much overtime as I want

I work in one of the busiest cities in the world per capita, we are putting out fires a lot, but we also do medical runs. I average 12 runs in a 24 hour period but I’ve had as many as 30 runs, most fires was 14 fires in a 24 hour day, probably gave away enough people can guess where I work from that though

Guess I didn’t really answer your question though, when we do have downtime it’s spent cooking, fixing up the firehouse, or just hanging out, jon is actually really fucking awesome, but it’s a lot less naps than people think firemen take, at least where I’m at, a 24 hour shift with 0 sleep is pretty common

yeah ive still been going to work every day, but if my boss wasnt taking it seriously i wouldnt go. fuck dying over a job. luckily my boss is making sure we are working outside and staying away from all beaner laborers.

I started a job with the gov in the start of march. I have pretty good job security. I got lucky, but work is crazy right now.

Also most firefighters are baby boomers who haven’t retired yet. Which means it’s a good time to be an EMT.

Concrete construction work in SoCal. A lot of jobs got shut down in the Beverly Hills/Hollywood areas but the job site I'm stationed at in Malibu is still going strong. I have enough work for at least the next 2 weeks and the GCs there want to keep at least 2 people from our company on standby even if we're not doing anything for general questions and concerns. So life is pretty good and comfy. Would've been nice to get laid off and file for unemployment but having stuff to do is nice and traffic in LA has gone down dramatically. What was a 2 hour rush hour commute is now 45 minutes. Such a fucking blessing.

Data analyst for state government. Work from home a few times a week normally. Full telework till summer at least. Now waiting for trumpbux. Only problem is state revenue going to tank, so I don't know. I do most of my employees work for them because they are stupid boomers so I think I'm safe. But the union has some shitty agreement regarding seniority. I'm not a member so I don't know. If I'm laid off I get my pension paid out. That would be pretty sweet.

Still employed so far, but work was closed last Thursday. Found out yesterday that I'm getting paid for two weeks of the time we're closed, and will find out next week about reopening. Still a little bit worried about getting laid off at some point depending on how bad the economy gets.
