Doesn't mean the death rate is wrong. It does mean that the volume reported is wrong, and for the Chinese to engineer their numbers to appear to be a realistic ratio as will be seen in other countries really shows the depth of their deception.

You’re both half right. Imperial College did readjust for social distancing, but they also changed R0 to closer to 3. Oxford just released a study where they think between 10-50% of the population of the UK has been infected, depending on different R0 numbers and probability. Similar statements in the US from Stanford and others claim similar. Basically the Imperial college models don’t account for spread almost a month previous to the first recorded cases in the west, whereas the oxford models do (assuming that a lot were mild and asymptomatic and nobody knew what it was).

Basically right now we’re looking at a very small group of extreme cases with a ton of mild to no symptom cases that haven’t even been discovered yet.

I suspect we'll go back to business as usual this summer and the next flu season will be much worse. The cure isn't coming out until next summer. Millions will be dead world wide.
