Anyone here in grad school?
What's your experience?
Me? I have two papers due tomorrow, decided to get drunk, and will have to hastily put together some bullshit tomorrow while hungover. Comps are in a month and a half and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Ph. D in Niggerology. AMA
if you are in grad school for humanities or social sciences -- get out (after your masters is fine) -- for sure though don't be paying to be in school
Just kill yourself now and avoid the suffering
You're acting like college is hard when it's just expensive.
Thinking about doing an online masters program, we will see.
Why are niggers so dumb?
Grad student at MIT here. Doing research as normal. Get your shit together, this is perfect time to theorize.
Nigger, you have no idea what I'm going through. The entire department sucked my dick throughout undergrad and conned me into the PhD program. They waived everything except the statement of purpose. They literally shitcanned my statement of purpose and are coercing me to research under some commie tenured professor. Basically threatening to kick me out of the program if I don't "fit in"
>imagine not getting a job in career for a few years then going back to grad school while still working
M.S. in Project Management, writing my thesis. Due in 4 weeks.
Then I take a certification exam and enter the wacky world of projects.
PhD in physics, pretty stressed this week. Only the dead can know peace from this hell. Ama
I don't work except construction in the summer. A lot of PhD folks that I know do blue collar shit to compensate for the shit stipend.

In Africa, children were hazed via this "sticky-my-dicky" hazing before they were allowed to live in a tribe through adulthood. This is embedded in their genes and has been passed down through the generations.
why don't you get experience in your field?
We're all going to be faculty at some point. The "field" is literally based on TA and published works.
>if you are in grad school for humanities or social sciences -- get out (after your masters is fine)
this still stands
in my case this means working ~30 years, retiring, then becoming faculty. it also means the career comes from internships/irl experience (not just schooling) and the faculty position is the result of my ~30 years work experience.
Pretty much this. Sounds like might be poli sci. Had a friend who pretty much went through the same thing and he’s a miserable guy going from school to school every time his contract is up (he’s post doc now).
Don’t assume some schools will be within your beliefs. Georgetown always accepts veterans but the faculty are a bunch of DC retards and self-proclaimed never trumpers.
Harvard has the Kennedy school, which is good for realists, but good luck cozying up with them.
Same situation here, not drunk yet tho
It's a fucking waste of time but i'm having a blast along the ride
I also heard people say that a degree helps you get a job so it may be worth it
But after all i got an assistanship so i can't complain
Sounds like you're retarded. In what?
Got fucked out of graduation & I’m literally this close to deciding that grad school isn’t worth it after making friends with almost exclusively grad students. Shit seems overly stressful with absolutely fuck all for results, even in STEM, and with the economy crashing and a horrible semester looking back I’m feeling fed the fuck up with uni and academia in general. I know its just my early morning ramblings and anxiety telling me this, since I’ve been working too hard for too long to stop now, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that what I’m doing is utterly unimportant in the short term and will only serve as a stepping stool to receiving legitimacy for my work. In reality, I’m a phone call away from joining my family friend’s local business and moving to the US. Pandemic put the big kibosh on that, so I’m taking it as a sign to persevere. Fucking hell tho, I don’t even know if Uni is gonna be held next semester, and now my goals feel even further away... fuck
>My family owns a small construction business
>Worked for around 2 years
>We started diversifying
>Was literally in charge of the projects
>2 out of the 3 startups failed.
>Fuck this i need to know why!!
Currently coursing an mba, realize shit ton of things we did wrong back then.
I am literally taking control of the company and correcting almost everything next year after i graduate.
Also working on getting a harvard online web programming certificate at the moment too, your own pace kind of stuff, currently stuck due to time constrictions...startup that survived had a control dashboard coded by myself, the others didn't, data management is crucial in decision making.
Mathematics here. Unironically this.
Don't AMA, I'm going to bed in 15 minutes so I can do this 12 hours of nonsense again tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next dayand the next day and the next day and the next day and the next day.
The mere fact that you are questioning yourself is a sign you shouldn't do it.
Go full NSG+SIG and start to learn a trade. Self-study until all this shit blows over and find an apprenticeship and get your life going.
I get high instead of drunk, and only after I've finished my assignments
Grad degree in finance from a Top 5 University in uk living is USA. Ive joined the military to help me have a future because University means jack shit.
Did a science degree in physiology.
Now doing med school
Yeah G-Town makes you sign a pledge saying that you will never be racist and be a bigot and if they find out the ycan kick you out... being a national socialist in 2020 is difficult anons.
>be me
>Master's student in Electrical Engineering
>Have to make all the classes online format since the professor somehow doesn't understand video calling and online course management aside from a fucking HTML page
not one graduate prof I dealt with can operate Zoom correctly
>PhDuhs
Sounds pretty gay
*exponential feedback*
>mute your microphones!
I don't understand how these guys can manage to comprehend semiconductor physics and electromagnetism yet not figure out how to screen share reliably
*prof keeps hearing his own voice and pausing*
MS in Math. It's pretty much extended undergrad. This has been my easiest semester.
It sounds like someone is seizing your means of production. Any idea why the commie wants your shit?
one prof I had INSISTED we use some shitty Zoom clone because he couldn't figure out Zoom and then gave it up completely because the 30-day trail ended for everyone
God damn I just had that happen to me as well.
This dumb boomer teacher couldn't wear fucking headphones and kept ringing the whole class.
After the big market crash next week I'm going to buy some Zoom (ZM) stock. It went crazy this week but my monopoly money was stuck in an ETF.
not crashing again anytime soon -- stimulus is on its way and everyone thinks we're saved -- also the vast unemployment is "saving" companies money
Getting an M.S. in International Logistics and the Corona Crash just went and FUCKED MY ASS
reminder that business studies is the best degree
but the corona plague has barely started. people will be panicking if this lasts as long as a typical flu season
This looks like a jewish döppleganger of myself.
What are the paper topics?
Wacky is a homo euphemism. It denotes wacking an erect penis against a twink derrière.
t. word smith, PhD
Grad research project here. I am fucked. All my lab access just went out the window. There is no saving my deadline. I'm seriously looking into buying servers or getting Azure credit for computing power.
Same old sixes and sevens, amirite?
M.S. in Geology here. Seminar class ended prematurely because guest lecturers wouldn't be able to visit anymore. TAing lab is easier because quizzes are graded automatically now. Other two classes have been reducing workload as well. Not bad desu.
My life has been a shitshow since 2019, and the ride isn’t ending any time soon. If I was a low IQ nigger I’d probably rope, but I’d wanna at least take out a Mosque or Synagogue and die from police fire if I really was thinking about ending it.
Although my adviser (immunocompromised) is unavailable which makes doing field work for my thesis difficult, but I will do my best.
(Tenure + laziness)^arrogance = waste of fucking time and money
hey you do what you need to for that shingle
In it for a masters of psychology. It's the most kiked shit ever. They think being a tranny faggot is perfectly sane
I was in grad school many years ago. Got an MA.
My experience was time-lapsed redpilling.
I listened to a few jewish professors talk about the frankfurt school, hegelian dialectics, and other marxist topics.
It was only after coming to Yas Forums that I began to slowly understand what I was taught and why there were so many jews in the department. It really was marxist education.
so what will you do when a trans sits on your couch and wants to an hero?
a) let xer, but not on the couch
b) tell the faggot to man up and GTFO
c) milk that stooge for every dollar it has
Based. Better politicians though than innocent people though.
M.Sc. here. I'm almost done, but i'm unlucky and have been in it for 4 years. My project was plagued with technical problems and it took forever. Not sure any of this was worth it, but I'll see it to the end.
It helped me
Show thighs
Glad to hear that
Never give up and remember that you have an enemy: the screen
And that you have two best friends: Jesus and coffee
If you have a good advisor, grad school is not too bad. If you have a bad one though, the coursework is the least of your problems...
I am superposition of both.
Yeah, I just got an MA in a non-STEM field that I had to partly pay for out of pocket, but it allowed me to have a career.
>non-STEM
good luck my boy, i don't see a super bright career for your next future
I personally i'm finishing a MS in a STEM field and my advisor told me that he would pay me for a PhD but i really hate writing.. guess i'll become a wagecuck
Haha
Vector calc is hard buddy. Pages of work for one problem.
Also thermodynamics if the professor is an autist.
Uni can be hard AF. It really depends on the professor. Once for trig my guy put put an extra credit quiz. In a class of engineering students 3 people got 2-3/10 questions right in 30 min.
I should have written only and not just. I finished grad school almost 20 years ago.
I've done just fine. It's a big world with a lot of career paths.
