It is my opinion that a true AI is too far away for me to have any effect whatsoever, no matter what I do. I suspect that the kind of processing power to support such a program would exceed that of current DNA decoders by more than we could even expect at this point. I'd say that the code required to create a true self-sustaining AI is beyond our knowledge at this point. You're talking about recreating the human brain a thousandfold. Even JUST reproducing the human brain would require resources we don't yet have. Nothing I can do would effect the development or production of an AI at this point, a concept I can't even begin to fathom in its complexity, and I will be dead long before it comes. I would be as much a candidate for retribution as someone in the middle ages.
