As was pointed out yesterday, Yas Forums was ALWAYS dominated by the far right. There has also always been some libertarian types, but they have always been outnumbered by far right types. ALWAYS.
I came here in 2013, and Yas Forums was basically stormfront in those days. And from what i've heard it always was, going back to when Yas Forums was /new/. Thats why moot deleted the original /new/.

Yas Forums started going to shit after the 2016 election. Some very powerful people seemed to think we helped get Trump elected and that put a big target on our back.

I came to Yas Forums around 2007-2008 (found the site in 2007 started browsing regularly in 2008) I mean I think part of the problem is that the mods on Yas Forums are against raids now and also things on the internet are a lot more transparent. I am sure you have heard this a million times but there was a point in time where only nerds used the internet outside of basic crap like email. With social media everything went to shit, no one is really user anymore, etc. Even reddit which was ALWAYS autistic garbage become a lot less pro free speech. It isn't just Yas Forums, it's the whole web. The wild west days of the internet are over, might as well either accept it or just move on.
