I kind of feel like Orthodoxy is the best we can do, if you, or anyone else were to continue on being Christian. Just my opinion.

I have thought hard about it. I have a friend who changed to Orthodoxy from Southern Baptist. The thing about it is, Orthodoxy is full of Eastern European immigrants and they act like they are superior even though they fled their shithole countries to come to this one.

I always thought I would stay UMC, though, I was born in that church and I love it. The best thing I can say about UMC is we are not snobs. Our communion service is open to everyone, period, just like Christ's communion was.

I've only been to the one Orthodox Church where I live, and they were very welcoming and warm, though, that isn't to say they all are. The snobbery will continue on, no matter which path you choose, but like anything else, you may have to carve a path to belong to that Church. As an aside, not to be rude, but you aren't going there for them.
I'm not so well versed on the open vs closed communion other than how the person views the sacrament. In that case, you'd have to follow however you believe.
