From what I have read so far they put you on supplemental oxygen first. From there people either stabilize or they continue getting worse and that is when they end up in the ICU on a ventilator. I interpret the letter to mean that if you take a turn for the worse, they are going to evaluate you whether you have a good chance making it or if this is it for you, and they are only going to help the people that have a good chance.

You'll probably be fine. from 2010 to 2019 I drank literally 15-20 shots a a day and was forced to quit for 1.5 years because of probation. Liver completely rehealed in 3 months....but the past 6 months, I've been allowed to drink and drink 24-30 standard drinks a day (no exaggeration) and I've already killed every organ in my body lol. With that said, stay off the booze if you can. Not worth it
