The virus is primarily killing the old and unhealthy. Unless you're arguing that these people are just dying of unrelated conditions simultaneously, the fact is that they would have lived on if they hadn't gotten corona. Deaths are low in Japan because they wear masks and follow social distancing, deaths were high in Italy because they live with their elderly and stick their tongues down your throat to say "hello." Nothing else to it.
