when i was a child, the site syncrude had finished open pit mining three location on their leased sites. as for the agreement these oilsand sites have made with the first nation people was that once mining was finished in one area, the land was to be restored to its original way.
in every case it dd happen and it happened lovely. i remember in 1997 the syncrude site had a bit ceremony for these three open pits i have talked about and finished restoring the land.
these lands were to be an open park for me, the children of the city and anyone else that wishes to come. it was lovely, amazing land and looked so good.
now come to that moment when those damn geese and other ducks landed in a remote tailings pond and got stick. big fucking deal, that was such a small percentage of the birds it wouldn't matter because as the ducks head south, what happens? they get hunted
