The U.S. may (and eventually will) lose its position as superpower and geopolitical leader of the world, but the chances of us being successfully invaded are so small to be ludicrous. For one thing we currently have the strongest navy in the world and are surrounded on all sides by either water or friendly countries and a naval invasion is not an easy thing in the best of circumstances. For another there are more guns in this country than people. Every individual living in rural America has a gun, as do many in the cities, and we have a culture of saying fuck you to foreign influence. Even if somehow our military was defeated there is no way the mainland is getting invaded since every Tom, Dick, and Harry out there is just waiting to shoot a foreigner. The most that could happen is OCONUS territories might get taken, but with our navy being as it is that is unlikely.
Now there is also the possibility of a failed nuclear war, or a massive civil war which would put us in a very different position. In either of those cases I doubt any survivors would group together according to state lines, so OP's pic doesn't make sense either.
