Yeah, from my perspective, because people are losing their jobs as a direct result of government intervention, then it falls on government to mitigate the impact on the people during this time. There are plenty of people who are out of work who wouldn't be if the government did not mandate many of the current shutdowns in Canada, and some businesses have been outright ordered to close. My mom is a small business owner, and while she has the money saved to keep paying necessary bills for three months on the business, any longer than that and she's out of luck, and out of savings, and it would be a direct result of government ordering her type of business closed, instead of allowing her to make the choice to continue under normal or modified operations and let the market dictate what's appropriate.
