Depends on where you live. I grew up in Colorado and it went from 600/mo for a one bedroom apartment to 1800/mo in less than 6 years. Wages did not increase based of the cost of living. I moved to Florida, where I’m now paying 800/mo for a 2 bedroom home. 1200 still doesn’t cover my expenses which are literally rent, utilities, and car insurance.
