Reminds me of a comic story from good ol' Donald Duck. There was one where they went back in time or something, and found that actually, the colossus of rhodes was a robot, and had 3 buttons. I think they found a couple of the missing buttons and thus woke him up but then he just walked into the sea. Fond childhood memories of that story.
