dude tell me about it. Nissan CVTs have a lifespan of about 60k miles but they're continuing to sell new ones because this happens to be the end of the warranty period on the drive train. I know the automatic transmission wasn't quite perfected 20 years ago but fuck me, you could buy a car with one back then and reasonably expect it to last at least 150k. but 60k miles? and I have to pay for another identical CVT out of pocket and it only has a 12k warranty now? get fucked. this is the first auto trans I've actually owned myself and not just had in the family or something and id like to say it's the last but they don't even make standard trannies in the U.S. any more.
