Postal bros unite!

We had a nice thread going talking about the bullshit at the post office.

Yes this is political, it's the post office. We are government employees, federal employees even. I giggle at the thought, we sure do work with some crazy motherfuckers!

Hope your office isn't too crazy fellow postal bros, we have stand up talks everyday now.

Not a postal service employee, but I will say: Thank you, and please keep being excellent!

fuck you, why is it taking so long to deliver a fucking book you worthless welfare queen motherfucker?

Dude I worked as an RCA for 8 months last year. Christmas was unreal. 85 hours a week for months. You guys are amazing sticking it out. Worst management I’ve ever encountered in my life

could be the shippers fault, could be cuz of the virus and shit complicating things across state lines, who knows lolol

not all management sucks, but i've heard some really bad horror stories from other offices. I'm glad I work in a pretty decent office for the most part.

That’s good. Our office was literally one of the worst in the nation. Had tons of higher ups coming in the fix our office. Didn’t happen. But was insane so kind of entertaining

Postal bro from last thread, but I have to sleep for work.
Nobody I know infected yet, still gotta work.

I was a CCA for a year and eight months before making regular. It wasn't too bad because for seven of those months I had a sweet hold down. Then I got top seniority and just snagged all the sweet short term hold downs.

Keep on keeping on brothers, everything’s not completely fucked if you keep delivering every day

>Had tons of higher ups coming in the fix our office.
Last summer they did mass inspections at our office as a union busting attempt. Flew in managers from out of state and did hundreds of write-ups. Literally had more management on floor than craft most days.

I like the craziness.

boring

>Nobody I know infected yet, still gotta work.
coof on some dps trays for us

Anyone else do a detail before? I'm starting mine soon. I can't wait to get out of carrying and get weekends off. I hear people say they work for 20 years to finally get saturdays, fuck that shit!

I start as a CCA next month.

YOU NIGGA CCAs STOP TAKING MY CHRISTMAS TIPS ON MY DAY OFF!!!!!!

I support the postal system

This one guy came into work all questioning if he was sick or not. Then they sent him home, it's been four days. Why the fuck did he even come to work?

Then we have another person who is quarantining who management didnt want us to know about until the rumor flew.

>not working at least 6 days a week
you'll never make in the post office.

thanks for still working

Unfortunately coronavirus cases inside the post offices are largely being swept under the rug.

A few offices in our area have had employees test positive, but there is no news coverage. A custodian sprays lysol in the morning, and everyone returns to work.

There is an office in our local area had four employees with symptoms, all of whom are continuing to work.

Stay safe senpai.

because he probably didn't want to sit home for 2 weeks if he wasn't really sick with corona

Don't quit. Learn the rules quick so management can't fuck with you. Also you are not on call and are never required to pick up your phone for them or give them your phone number. Anytime you pick up the phone, you are doing it out of the goodness of your heart or because you feel like it.

When I was a CCA just starting out they ran me up to 12 days straight once. I worked more than 7 days straight multiple times without a day off. They'd never let us know what our day off was either which was shitty.

not even scum DHL wants to deliver your ru paul book to you faggot

The post office gets an underserved amount of shit from the public. It's still the best shipping company when you factor in the price.

Also, sorry you guys have to work on Sundays.

Suspected cases are told to stay home for 2 weeks, I believe.

I had a LOW for attendance coming that I think they can't give to me anymore, lul.

Honestly you people laugh at stamp hoarders, but you really dont have enough stamps yourselves. The average person mails 1 letter per day. If you have a family of 4, that's 28 letters a week. Over 100 a month. stamps will be worth their weight in gold in a few months, because everyone needs them.

In some ways I understand why they're sweeping it under the rug. It scares the living shit out of people. The mailman who goes to everyones house and touches everyones mail and packages.

Yeah they say so far no evidence of it being on mail or packages, but what if I sneeze or cough and i'm holding your mail? That's where the real danger is, directly from the carrier who might have it.

At the same time they should try to handle it better. It's hard to keep a secret with this pandemic happening though.

This thread didn't have an image posted in it yet so here you all go.

I think he did want to and was probably not even showing symptoms. He was walking all across our giant post office with multiple zones in it. Everyone in my zone was staring at him. He should have just called the hotline or something.

Maybe he had some sick leave to burn and wanted a vacation, who knows.

Fuck you lazy fucks. Mostly nigger workforce. Lazy as shit. Eliminate stamp vending machines 10 years ago. Gotta wait in line the dregs to talk to another dreg. And, you fucks are like school busing programs. Nigger mailman in white neighborhoods, white mailman in nigger neighborhoods. Can't ship knives either. Fuck you.

Only the CCAs do, some mail handlers, plant people, and some supervisors do sundays too. But once you make career you get them off and it's awesome.

It is the best shipping for the price, I think thats one of our greatest advantages, and that we are genuinely liked and trusted by our customers more.

VMF here. Stay safe Postalbros!

>It's still the best shipping company when you factor in the price.
Express aside, it's faster and more accurate than the competition. Plus MUCH cheaper. I don't understand the PR problem the post office has.

I called out a few times during a certain period and they gave me a PDI for it, and I thought it was spread out lol. I guess not. I think I wasted one or two of those times as a CCA when they tried to send me to a shitty ass ghetto post office. Best decision ever to never return to that one, and luckily it didn't hurt my chances at my detail.

I was told during the interview that people who apply for better jobs in the post office have their sick leave reviewed. If it's determined that you abuse sick leave then they don't give you the job, I think desu if you have attendance problems they don't even interview you.

Nothing wrong with that occasional day off though, but now that I made regular I wanna keep stacking that sick leave so if I get my girl pregnant or have some sort of crazy incident that puts me out for awhile. Not too many places offer sick leave as good as ours is.

you should have posted an empty Gatorade bottle.

Or a full one. ;-)

When will this dumptruck of a woman retire already?

It's because we deliver to everyone. UPS, Fedex, and others don't. Meanwhile everyone gets mail. It's simply a numbers thing, we are more likely to piss people off. Also we hire some really fucking weird people that wouldn't make it past other peoples hiring systems.

Not interested in middle management at the post office anyway. There are better companies for that type of work. Carrying mail is fun.

>Can't ship knives either.
yes you can

I met her once at an event. She was actually really nice, but she does look tired.

She was suppose to retire in January. They need to pick someone else to replace her.

>
>Also we hire some really fucking weird people that wouldn't make it past other peoples hiring systems.

Yeah, why is that?

Who here working at a plant? Shits falling apart already in the one I'm at and it was built just 10 years ago. Getting forced in to work the loading dock despite my horrendous cough. Miserable

screw being a supervisor. You know theres more than management in EAS right? Go to a career conference and check out other departments.

I have a degree so I have an advantage over a lot of other people in the post office who don't, so that let me skip being a 204B. Fuck that

based postal thread.

I'm not a letter carrier but my dad is, he's cool af.

mad respect for my postal bros.

because we have high turnover and we need warm bodies to deliver mail.

Being a CCA isn't easy most of the time, and a lot of people end up quitting before converting. You have to put up with a lot of shit, but once you figure out the rules and how to navigate the system its fine.

The test that we have to take is super easy and has a low requirement of a 70 or higher. The hardest part of the test is the memorization, and everything else is just simple reading comprehension shit.

I put my name in, it’s a longshot, but I figured I’d try.
She’s done literally nothing while the post office has lost the most money it ever has, she’s signed bullshit deal after bullshit deal running the post office as a charity to our competitors.

I was at starbucks the other day, during my before work morning routine, I forgot my debit card in a shirt in a pocket at home, and I asked if it was cool if they cold hold my drink and I come back to pay, but she just let me have it for free cuz her dad was a mailman. :-)

>I don't understand the PR problem the post office has.

Uh, because of the hour long wait time for service?

Most people leave restaurants if they have to wait longer than 20 minutes for a table.

I really don't know much about her besides that she's the post master general. Whats an example of one of the bullshit deals she signed?

In my six years as a city carrier, never once did a woman answer the door in lingerie, not fucking once.

did you know that theres someone who watches all the cameras for all the post offices in their district? Like I sat in the room where they watch the clerks and call them if theres crazy lines or something looks weird.

Every amazon box you deliver costs amazon a single dollar to ship.
Our customers subsidize all of asian post, we practically pay THEM to deliver their crap.

Keep on keeping on!

Didnt we get a better amazon deal recently though? i know they're delivering more of their own, but we're delivering their bigger shit now.

Being a CCA or an MHA is like being a fucking slave. Clerks have it the best by far

>TFW i didn't get called in to work my NS day this week
FUCKCKKCKKCK my 5 month record ruined.

Than you for delivering my Ebay goodies.

Yeah they seem to have it pretty easy overall, but they still have to deal with idiot customers in their own ways. Also they're a dying craft, they'll be obsolete at some point.

Being a CCA does kinda suck though because management can abuse you more than the career people and send you all over the place and send you back out.

What about shipping marijuana through the mail? Safe? Or bad idea?

The worst thing you can do for the post office is follow every safety regulation.

You must really like working your N/S day. I got off the list so I wouldn't ever have to for the most part. Every day off is precious to me, although I do enjoy my job for the most part.

mail handling was a good gig but they eliminated alot of those positions.
The job was a lot more fun when I could hang out in a bar all day...now they are always spying on you

It smells like hemp so they can't be bothered to put warrants out because that is additional work.

Most mail handler jobs are in the plants and tend to be held by waddling fat fucks who hide all day from performing their work and force the few good people to do fucking everything

God you're so fucking right. When I was a CCA you're pretty much encouraged to bang through the route as fast as you can so you can get to your overtime work in time. It's especially difficult if you have a long route.

Also I remember during sundays when they made us use the shitty GPS on the scanner that didn't work right. We went from doing on average 20 packages an hour to 10 because of that shit.
