The change over the past ~5 years here has been quite gradual. The repetitive threads have increased in volume at a fairly linear rate since about 2014. As for the 'seasonal'/shorter term topics you mentioned, sure you have repetitive threads that hover around based on recent events, then fade away. The ones I'm specifically talking about are the 'evergreen' that have stuck around for years... many of which are initiated by asking a question positioned as an opinion to encourage participation.

It's attrition by numbers. Countless times in the past, shills have shown themselves to be completely unable to blend into this board for purposes of subversion. A glownigger can't just simply drop into a place with posters forged by years of constant exposure to uncomfortable truths. Their only solution was to then literally kill pol with spam, recruiting anyone that would have their bone to pick with us (such as their armies of brainwashed emotionally-thinking SJW faggots) who are all too happy to "sick it to those evil pol racists" for free.
