I typed in "My Suicide Story" to youtube and the vast majority of videos are made by young girls.
Why is this?
Young boys are the demography most at risk, as far as I can recall. Why aren't I seeing many videos of young boys talking about their suicide stories?

2 reasons I can think of, people don't care about men so the videos get fewer views causing Youtube's algo not to pick them up, and men succeed at suicide more often because it's not just a cry for attention or help in the same way female suicide attempts are.

I remember seeing a video of a beautiful girl talking about why she has no friends, or has never had a boyfriend, or something, and it had many a view. An ugly guy would have a harder time getting those views due to beign an ugly boy.

It saddens me how many of you think women only attempt suicide for attention. It's as if both the left and the right are trying to make the gap between males and females bigger than it should be when in fact we need one another and should be working with each other. As to why female suicide stories are more popular on youtube, this user explains it perfectly - Youtubes algorithm picks up beautiful women over men (and over less beautiful women). Not to mention that women, since they think more emotionally, are more willing to share their emotions with other people.
Sure, some women do it for attention (and they are probably the ones posting on youtube and social media about it) but that's not the majority. Some men do it to be manipulative and controlling too (but that's not all men either). My ex boyfriend used to say he is going to kill himself if I leave and would even "try to attempt it" in front of me and that's a bit fucked up too. Later on I learned this is not too uncommon with men. I think my point is that some people just suck regardless of their gender but we shouldn't assume all men or women behave that way.
