Reposting my WhatsApp convos from last Thursday and Friday with my friend who is a physician in Spain. She was never an ICU doctor before Corona, but now she is.
After the chat on Friday we spoke on the phone and she told me this: 1) There is no cure. Anti-malaria therapy isn’t working. Anti-virals aren’t working. Interferone based treatment isn’t working. 2) Fatalities are mostly old folks, but not all of them. People get to the hospital, get intubated, get sedated, and die. Hundreds a day. 3) People in ICU die around the 8th day after the first symptoms. They die alone, mostly while sleeping. They cannot see their families and their families cannot say adios to them. 4) Lungs of people who die appear white at the X-rays. 5) People who were young and apparently healthy, died. There seems to be no correlation between a person’s health and his/her chance to survive once in ICU. 6) About 70% of the patients that are placed in ICU, die.
She suggested to avoid hospitals and doctors’ offices unless getting sick with severely impaired breathing. She said some of her colleagues are very sick.

Because influenza kills 250,000-500,000 annually and no one bats an eye. The regular flu season is from October-May. So even if Covid-19 numbers keep increasing until May, it likely won't even pass influenza deaths. By the way, I can't find the study, but there was a Scottish study done a few years ago where they tested people who supposedly died of "seasonal flu" and what they found was influenza alongside some coronavirus and a few others. So there's the issue of people dying from the literal flu (500,000 people die of it annually) but having CV19 in their system and being listed as dying from CV19.
