compared to SOF2 this game feature a pretty sterile combat.

biggest appeal is the focus on tactical science of infantry combat not how dismemberable the model or how elaborate the death animations. and it's too boring for normies.

The combat in SoF2 wasn't stale? Compared to CoD2 which was the direct competitor, SoF2 felt stale and old but everyone bought it for the gore.

Its excellent. The shooting mechanics are very satisfying and its got a great versatility in movement and style, theres so many ways you can execute enemies and it really plays like an oldschool game with a new age twist that makes it challenging, but still fair, mostly.
Its honestly the best shooter out there mechanics-wise in my opinion. The freedom of movement and the way it rewards you for flying across the battlefield with precision and breakneck speed constantly really gives you a satisfying time.
I paid 80 bucks right when it came out for the Deluxe edition and I do not regret my purchase at all.
