It's good enough for 3 times a day if you aren't already having insane as fuck withdrawal. I've stopped drinking for a week with xanax before and was fine for 3 weeks after with nothing.

this is very true. pick up a bottle of generic benadryl tabs and 1-2 will help, but is not as immediate (do not chew them to expedite, taste like shit and your tongue/throat will be numb). (do not use at the same time as the benzos either).

decreasing the dosage gradually, rather than abruptly (which can cause seizures and death). By how much depends on the type of benzo and the dose, and how long the person has been at that dose for maintenance. I would recommend OP (or you if you take it) call your doctor and tell them you would like to begin a taper and they will tell you what to do, and possibly call in a different prescription at a lower dose or longer-acting benzo to help make it easier on the body.
